How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

No parking but you can park outside fir 1 hour to unload and there is parking in side streets nearby. The second bedroom is a bit small but is ok

Beautifully furnished home, every room is stunning and spacious. Really cosy vibe to the property. Adrian was very attentive during stay and would respond quickly to any queries I had. Thank you!

Loved it all.
Lovely clean cottage lots of space. Loved Cowbridge very friendly neighbours and people in general. Great facilities. Train into Cardiff and boat ferry into the bay great first time visit. Will definitely visit again and stay at the same place. Definitely recommend to friends and family.

The house was beautiful, spacious and so clean! The beds were more comfortable than any hotel I’ve stayed in before and the kitchen space was the spectacle with so much light and just the perfect environment for travelling as a group.

The house was lovely, neutral but still so cosy and welcoming. Everything was in perfect condition, clean and extremely well equipped. The terrace and garden were a great plus! Excellent communication!

Loved everything :)
The lovely garden & beautiful interior of the house. Excellent location within easy walking distance of the town. Not too noisy (considering you are on the main road into Cowbridge).

This house is not for anyone who as any mobility issues. I found the stairs hard work and once down I stayed down. The hot tap was not as expected and had use a pan to boil the water for hot drinks. Maybe a few more dishwasher tablets would have been nice!
Cowbridge, offers an amazing independent shops, cafes, pubs. There are excellent public transport links to Cardiff center. The bed are so comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and lead on to amazing garden which we made use.

No kettle!!! Guests are expected to use the kitchen sink tap. It was really annoying (and a bit dangerous) having to microwave a jug of water every time we wanted a cup of tea. No vegetable peeler. No soup lately or slotted spoon or other serving spoons; just some flat wooden spatulas. Selection of kitchen utensils and pots & pans was basic. Some of the drinking glasses, crockery and cutlery were dirty (we washed all the cutlery). Throughout the property we found door and cupboard handles were dirty. Living room flat screen TV is old tech and needs replacing. Only a few apps with no CH4 or CH5 or ITV apps!!! It has YouTube but the wifi was unreliable so the app kept stalling; making it unwatchable and forcing us to watch it in the kitchen. No blueray/dvd player with either TV!!! Patio door and lock are difficult to open and close. Both mattresses were comfy but all the pillows were flat as pancakes (ridiculous). I regularly stay in properties in this price bracket so know what to expect ~ this property did not meet expectations. At £1,250 for 5nights in late September it is seriously overpriced.
Excellent location. Comfy sofas. Comfy mattresses. Big garden. Comfortable garden chairs. Big, bright, kitchen with large TV. 1hour parking just a matter of yards from front door made it easy to unload our car. We saw plenty of free parking in the nearby sidestreets which we used throughout our 5night stay without any problems. Easy self check in with a key safe.
