Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomLoved this quirky little cottage and the fabulous location. We had a very relaxing stay. As others have mentioned the stairs are steep and shallow but we had no problem with this. We would definitely stay here again.

United KingdomThere wasnt anything I didnt like. The steep stairs are absolutely fine once you get used to them and come down backwards as you would on a boat..
Very peaceful and beautiful traditional cottage in a lovely setting just 1.5 miles from the pretty coastal village of Aberdaron. It is incredibly well equipped. There is nothing the very friendly owners have not thought of. It is small but was perfect for us as a couple looking for a relaxing break in stunning scenery. This is an old cottage creatively and beautifully restored. The steep stairs and low ceilings upstairs are part of its charm. The surrounding coast is amongst the most dramatic I have seen in in the UK. There are great walks from the front door. I hope to return here next year.

Good access to points of interest. Great base for exploring. Aberdaron isn't far away for additional amenities..... great chippy ;-) Two great viewpoints (hills) in walking distance to take in the Aura and Ambience of the peninsula.

United KingdomHurricane Eunice 🌀 😂😂
This was the most relaxing break we have had for a long time. We stayed during Hurricane Eunice and had a day and night reading and playing board games in front of an open fire 🔥 The cottage had absolutely everything you could need. Near by is Abersoch, Pwllheli and Whistling sands. Something for everyone and the hosts were so helpful.

United KingdomEverything was wonderful! We had such a great time, and this cottage was completely perfect for what we wanted and needed - a relaxing couple of days away from the world to destress! The host is so lovely, the cottage was extremely clean, and the space itself is really cute. We loved the open fire.

United KingdomThe fact that the stairs were a little dangerous for a disabled person. This was not pointed out in the Booking.com listing and we were only made aware once we had paid.

United KingdomThe cottage is very dark and the bedrooms are tiny. There is no immediate garden, the space is apart from the dwelling. The furnishings are old-fashioned and not pristine.
The location and views from the cottage are superb. There is a steep 1.5 miles walk down to the town. As the furnishings are a little worn then there is a home-from-home feel. Great communication from the owner.

United KingdomA small living space which felt quite cluttered with lots of ornaments and lamps. Loft bedrooms a challenge (especially if you are tall!) with sloping roof significantly reducing headroom. No door on the one bedroom space so no real privacy.
Very comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen. Beautiful location, peace and quiet. Nice garden area to the rear of the little row of cottages. Off road parking. Beautiful cows in adjacent field!

United KingdomThe cottage would be perfect for 2 people. We were a party of 4 and a dog and to be honest it was too small for us. The garden isn't attached to the property, which we knew. Its a lovely garden but the neighbours property incorporates the pathway to it and they had their dog loose which meant we couldn't make use of the garden for the last 2 days as our dog is young and not completely trained to recall (our fault but we didn't realise the logistics)
The garden area is gorgeous and the cottage is lovely and well equipped. Just a bit too small for 4.
