Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. In the end it was fine, but it could be improved 2. the duvet quality is not good, the down/feature filled in the duvet were not evenly distributed, causing some parts of duvet is much thinner than the other (not only in my room. my colleague said the same in their rooms), which caused some uncomfortable sleep to me

GreeceWe arrived before check-in at 3 pm and there was no option for storing luggage. The only option was at another of their properties which was an 18-min drive away. They had a full kitchen but no coffeemaker. We bought our own cafetière that we didn’t need as we already have one at home. You had to take out your own garbage but there were no bathroom bin liners - we bought those too as well as paper towels. We stayed 7 days and we had to ask for the room to be cleaned once. But everything felt like a “big ask”, including when we requested a second key card as we were traveling for business and had separate schedules. Basically, for a serviced apartment, the service could have been a bit better.
The building was beautiful and the apartment was really spacious. Location was also excellent.

NetherlandsI didn't like that the building is located in a very small deadend street which can be scary when you go back home late by yourself. I was in a ground-floor studio with a view close to a bar. People were drinking outside and they could see me quite clearly, which was a bit annoying in the late afternoon, but at least the studio is very well soundproofed so I couldn't hear them.
The location is really nice, in a business area, close to Monument and Bank station. The studio was clean, spacious and well equiped. It felt like home! And the staff was lovely.

United KingdomWe were there on a Saturday night and local conveniences closed very early. That's not a fault of the hotel, just the nature of the area. Seems more geared up for business travellers than tourists.
We stayed for just one night. The place seems set up for people that stay for longer - kitchen faculties, cooking implements, etc. If you are staying in London for a longer period of time, then this could be a good place to stay.

They had natural materials for bedding and not polyester, which feels hot and uncomfortable. Simple, unpretentious. There were even a couple of holes in the duvet cover. Not wasteful! Good value for money.

The location was fantastic and excellent value for money. The place was kept very clean and the kitchen was in very good working order. Staff were friendly and helpful.
