How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Really spacious and well kept property very close to the shops and cafes of the town and minutes away from the Minster. Was a comfy place to stay with our 10month old son. Free parking also a great perk. Communication with property’s host was great and they were also very helpful when we realised we had left something behind after check out.

Quiet and private location within short walking distance of Beverley town centre. Easy and free parking at rear of property. Very comfortable bed. Very nice bath and shower facilities. Felt like a home from home. Cosy and relaxing place to stay.

Would have liked milk for the coffee, tea, hot chocolate etc.
Super cosy, would have liked to spend more time there. The bed was really comfortable, everywhere was clean, the bathroom was lovely. Great location, definitely a ghost there though - this didn’t bother us.

There wasn’t anything about the property that we didn’t like.
This lovely property has everything you need for a comfortable stay with the bonus of having a private car park.

A sheet on how to operate the induction job would have been useful.
A lovely house with a great location just 5 minutes walk to the Minster. Ideal for couples wanting to do their own thing.

There were no hand towels in the bathroom when we arrived, just 2 bath towels. I messaged the owner via Booking.com straight away and a couple more times during our 2 night stay but never received a reply. The TV was a bit of a nightmare, and we couldn't get any live TV. but managed to get BBC IPlayer working a couple of times. Again, I messaged and texted the owner, but no reply. The hob in the kitchen is tricky to use and definitely needs some written instructions. A couple of the saucepans in the kitchen are badly worn and need replacing. There were lots of cobwebs around the bathroom window that I removed before my wife could see them. Our stay was a little spoilt by a number of annoying and unnecessary minor issues that I'm sure could have been resolved if the owner had only replied to my messages.
The property is ideally located in a quiet street near the Minster and within a 10 minute walk of the town centre for great shops, bars, and restaurants. The house is quite compact but well furnished. There is a comfortable double bedroom on the mezzanine level, and the bathroom has a very good shower. Parking at the rear of the property was very convenient.

Not enough toilet tissue, no hand soap at bathroom sink (we had to improvise using dish detergent), bath towels had a musty odour. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay!

The sheet could be cleaner,and lots of spiders webs around the house , fridge could be cleaner and no milk in it. Been very picky with review but would have 10 out of 10 if all above can be sorted out.
Location great nice and peaceful, parking great, house lovely small space. Easy walk to town, the owners easy to contact if you need anything all instructions easy to follow. Would stay again 🙂

We were blessed with good weather so the conservatory/dining room was very hot. Some blinds would have been useful
