How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The host was welcoming and helpful. The room was a good size warm clean and comfortable. It is close to the town centre just a short walk and off road parking at the rear. All round a good experience at a reasonable price.

There wasn’t anything that I didn’t like.
The room was perfect for what I needed, it was clean, comfortable and very friendly staff. Bathrooms cleanliness was a five star!

Couldn't/doesn't need any improvements. Excellent.
Excellent location for bus and trains stations, and for shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. This is the second time I have stayed here, and received a warm welcome. Rooms have the great bonus of a fridge and microwave in addition to tea/coffee, kettle, TV and ironing board.

Isolation between rooms cause I heard very clearly every coughing next room and automatic spray on corridor noisy every few minutes, but this didn't wake me up.
Quaiet at night. Sleep very well. Very nice host. Big bathroom with huge shower. Clean enough. Very close to Music Hall, Train station etc. Nice neighbourhood. For price is very good.

Shower cubicle in room that doesnt work
The room was clean very comfortable bed. Fridge, microwave, tv, crockery and tea making facilities. Sink in room. Shower products. 2 shared toilet and showeringng facilities. Staff at check in very helpful and informative. Would stay again. Value for money.

Could not fault anything. As well as the fridge and microwave, the room had a kettle and tea/coffee. Also an iron and board.
It's a room-only property. Location perfect for onward travel as close to bus and rail stations. Having a fridge and a microwave in the room was amazing. Very close to the main shopping street, Union Street.

The shower head in the second floor bathroom was broken, so it didn't stay up (which made showering quite annoying for a tall guy such as myself)
The staff were very friendly, and made the self check-in process incredibly easy. The room felt very cosy.

providing a tea towel and washing up liquid would be really great, just to help people tidy up after themselves
The staff were really helpful, andI was able to leave my bags at the property, which was really useful. The location is great, really near everything in Aberdeen and the train station. The room had everything I was expecting - microwave, kettle, fridge, plates, bowls and cutlery. The shared bathrooms were nice.

I have stayed here more than once and it’s my go to for when I’m out in Aberdeen with my band. Perfect location, very clean and quiet and the staff are really friendly and I enjoy the banter and simplicity of this place

It'd've been useful to have had a bedside table lamp, but this is a minor detail. Also, perhaps a cushion n for the desk chair.
Polite and helpful staff. Nice shower. Central location. The high ceilings made for good acoustics for early evening flute practice. The TV was a good size.

True, I didn't think much of the breakfast as there is none, and the bathroom was quite a hike from my room, but hey £37 and a short walk from the Station and quite close to what looks like a great korean restaurant. Waddaya want? Plus the bed was super comfy and the tea tray well-stocked.

The TV reception wasn't great.
Friendly and helpful staff. Was able to leave my luggage. Clean, bright decor and comfortable. Had a fridge, microwave and utensils in the room and also a chair. There was an extra wall heater to use, if the room was cool. Very good location.near the station and the centre, but quiet. Good value for money. Would definitely stay again.
