Staff were really friendly and helpful. Informed us about things local in the area. The rooms were incredibly clean which is a plus as when you go to chains they're rarely as clean as you'd hope. So this trumps chain hotels hands down. Dinner was excellent, there were 6 of us in 3 rooms and all had a brilliant meal and stay.

The room we stayed in did have some stains on the bedding throw and the light on the bathroom has a lot of dead spiders etc in it. This didn't affect our stay as we just moved the throw and the light is a light... But if this was sorted I honestly couldn't fault a thing. Overall amazing!!

The staff were extremely professional, very friendly and overall made the stay amazing! The food was lovely and fairly priced and the location was great for where we were going. Absolutely would stay again! Excellent establishment! Thank you for being so great!!

Just a small thing noticed that the bathroom was missing a shelf ,struggled where to put toiletries. The chair at the desk needs cleaned, upgraded.

Staff were so professional and very helpful and friendly, the restaurant menu was exceptional good value with an excellent choice, absolutely delicious produce.

The spoons and cups were dirty in our room, but apart from that everything else was fine.

A proper bedside light is really needed, not just a switch for the main room lights. No light over the mirror either.

Quiet - yes, there is traffic noise but only if you open the window & then it's a constant hum NOT city traffic noise (no sirens/delivery vans/bin lorries) so perfectly OK for us . Very comfortable room, good bathroom, very good shower. Lovely friendly helpful staff. Nearby buses into/from town. 15mins walk from D. East rail station.

Despite signage on the approaches to the hotel, it was difficult to locate. The main vehicular entrance is from a duel-carriageway, so you need to be heading in the correct direction or you will overshoot the hotel and face a lengthy additional drive.

We had a large suite (composed of two adjoining rooms) which was well-appointed and very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and the communal areas were inviting.

I feel it would be unfair to mention silly wee things that were not 100% for us, but would be for someone else.

A varied menu, I'm sure there would be something for everyone , massive portions. My husband, particularly like the haggis. All staff are lovely and nothing is a bother. The bar is also reasonably priced, which is good because we spend a lot of time there with our friends who live locally to the hotel.

The 'bar-meal eating area' could have a few non-dining seats, because every one in there is for eating only so to sit and enjoy just a drink means having to sit in the actual bar where there are TV,s and rather 'loud' and quite pleasant chat (unnecessary swearing) going on from non-resident locals and visitors. I understand that the locals need to be catered for, but that part could easily be partitioned off. If it was my hotel, I'd do that! Oh, one other thing. Not good to see guests, lots of them, 'in pyjamas' at breakfast! It just isn't, shouldn't be, done!

Very noticeably friendly and helpful staff from the beginning. The restaurant is lovely and the food is excellent! Very competitively priced too. Clean, with courteous staff, couldn't fault it. The rooms are clean, comfortable, quite a good size, and quiet. We will definitely be visiting again!
