Fantastic hostel. Really nice location, very comfortable rooms and mattresses, great kitchen and common area. The staff was very friendly and helpful! There is no wifi but they offer some help if you need to look something up. Would definitely come back!

All was good. 👌Could not visit nearest beach. Too far away, terrain and wind too difficult to walk in and no sun. Wind too strong to take photos. 😥

Tasteful interieur with nice colours in it. Nice pictures on walls. My dorm was divided in 4 cubicles each 2 beds and with curtain to draw for privacy. Fantastic. My cubicle slightly too cold but could use a duvet from other open bed. Pillow comfortable. Staff, Steven, very friendly, supportive, helpfull. Bathroom and facilities and dorm, dining room and kitchen neat and clean. Thank you.😁

Stew was the best host I've ever had at any Youth Hostel or holiday accommodation! He gave us a very warm welcome after our long drive through the highlands and had the wood fire burning so we could get dry and warm immediately. The rooms were incredibly well kept and clean and we were so impressed by his attitude and ability to make us feel right at home! The white sand beaches were the cherry on top to this fabulous experience 😍

Stew went the extra mile to take care of us. So accommodating and helpful around our needs (helped us with drying our wetsuits, booked our next accommodation for us, he was genuinely interested in us having the best possible stay and took extra care to make this happen). Knowledgable about the local area and full of good advice and practical tips.

Our room was next door to the communal toilet therefore everytime someone used it we heard the incredibly loud flushing system

Location is single track to access and the car park has potholes everywhere.

Great location and staff. Staff were attentive and nice, super informative and accommodating. Individual curtained rooms allowed for sufficient privacy for a shared room. Very comfy and very warm for a autumn stay. Good social areas with a wood-burner meant it felt very sheltered from the elements. Beds were surprisingly comfy for bunk beds, shower was great. Very safe.

A delightful place to stay. The room was spacious and warm, lovely clean toilets and shower rooms and the lounge with the open fire was a bonus. A short walk to a beautiful beach armed with food from the chippy next to the beach. The chap who met us on arrival was very helpful, couldn't of asked for more

Mattresses getting a little tired, mattress toppers would fix this. Overall a very minor comment as the place was great in every other way and still slept well!

The location was stunning, staff were polite, upbeat and helpful. The facilities were all very clean and tidy. Would stay here again!

Staff truly excellent. Very simple accommodation, which actually is really good. No wifi or mobile access inside (have to go outside, sometimes to climb the hill.) Forces people to actually talk together, which is brilliant.

Nothing I can say

The hostel is in a prime location, in front of one of the best beaches in Scotland mainland. The dorm was great, bunk beds are separated by curtains so pretty much you have a ‘room for 2’ It was quiet when I stayed so I had one to myself. The bed was soooo comfy, I slept 10hs!!!! Common areas are good, I read a book at night and enjoyed the fire. There is option to buy dinner/ breakfast at the hostel too, and there’s also facilities to cook. There is a fish & chips shop nearby and a small shop for essentials. The place was really clean too! I haven’t stayed in a hostel in probably 12-14 years and this come back was brilliant. The staff was lovely and very helpful

Just the curtain instead of a door was a bit of a shame, seperating us from the other visiters but otherwise it was all good.

The achmelvich beach is beautiful - the hostel is just a few steps away. Sara who looked after everything and everybody, made us feel very welcome. Thank you Sara for everything!!
