How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Couch is small. Maybe error in translation on booking but couch is not fold-out

The sofa was very uncomfortable, even for watching TV. Nobody can sleep on it. I asked for an apartment with a balcony. The windows couldn´t be opened

Thought the bath towels could benefit from being refreshed.
Location was ideal for transport and walk to work. There was a games and sports bar around the corner for drinks, plenty of places to eat. Very comfortable and well equipped apartment

Really nice and quiet flat. It's a short walk from Tower Hill and Aldgate East Station. The flat has everything you need and even more. A special thanks to Mr Mehdi ( the caretaker ) who always did his best to satisfy our requirements. We think we'll visit Twine House again!🤗

Employess. Even though I have 3 small children, I was warned to keep the children quiet in a disrespectful way. Even though we were all asleep at 10pm.The employee who greeted the customer was not friendly or hospitable at all. Have the room cleaned only once in 10 days. We only bought it once, in clean sheets.

Apartment is very good, 2 bedrooms and a big living room. Every two days changing of towels, every four day changing of linen. Very very attentive manager! All requests were solved very quickly.

It was under stocked - no broom, Dust pan, vacuum. Also the kitchen had very few utensils. This made it difficult to keep clean and tidy, and to cook.

Though I understand these are serviced apartments, as a property manager myself for high end residential , these are not of the standard to warrant a £500 cash deposit for damages. £100 would be more than sufficient and also should be payable by card not cash!
Great distance to the location I was attending and a very secure building.

The apartment was not well kept at all, stains on couch pillows - nightstands chipped and marked up - the futon in the living room was torn all the way up - the towels were very poor quality, thin and scratchy. The £500 deposit is insane for an apartment that already costs over £300 a night. Paying for late check in when I already paid for the apartment from 3pm on is also ridiculous, I’m not even utilizing the space that I paid for, for all those hours. No luggage storage, no early check in, no late check out. It was just not ideal for the price.

For some reason the programme of the temperature in the house is always set at 29 degrees. 29!!!!! We woke up every night from the heat to switch it off again, only to wake up early in the morning, again from the heat. I have no clue why they have it set that high but it was crazy warm inside and we couldn't turn it off because it would change back every time. Besides the heat we didn't sleep very well because the mattresses are the most terrible I've ever slept on. So soft, you could feel the wooden plints in your back. The couches were also so soft, so not very comfortable to sit on. The shower in one of the bathroom is a bit clogged and moisty. The hallway smelled like weed. It was so bad that it made us really nauseous. Luckily you didn't smell it in the apartment, but it was awful. It's not very expensive (for London) so I guess okay value for money.
The communication was pleasant and quick.

Great location, quite close to the underground (10 min). Close to the city centre, you can get to Tower Bridge on foot. Quiet and comfortable. Fully equipped. Highly recommended!

Apartment was very hot, despite 2 fans in room the heat was unbearable. The elevator was very smelly like Urine or Amonia most days if we did not have anything heavy preferred to walk up the stairs to 4th floor rather than taking elevator. Common area heaters were on even when temperatures were close to mid 20s.
Excellent size apartment, quite comfortable with lovely balcony. Cleaning service quite prompt & did a good job keeping the apartment clean.

The building was super hot and with no air-conditioning or adequate ventilation. The balcony door couldn't be left open overnight as it would have been a security risk and with no ventilation it was incredibly hot inside even when the outside temperature was quite cool, inside it was stifling. Even after having the balcony open and allowing air in as soon as you closed that door it was incredibly hot again because the foyer and corridors were so hot that it kept the apartment hot. It seemed that someone had used the lift as a toilet. The advertising for the unit says it has city views - it doesn't. Asking for 500 pounds as a cash deposit is excessive! Everywhere else holds a deposit via credit card.
Location was good. The apartment itself was good.

The management
The hotel room was booked at 8pm and when we went to stay at the hotel 10pm we discovered they don’t have any room left . We were very disappointed
