Would have been good to have black out curtains and secondary glazing to reduce noise from the road (but understand this is difficult as the building is listed and very old).

There was a good deal of noise from the road at the front. If this is an issue, ask for a room at the rear of the building.

Dinner was superb, beautifully presented with wonderful flavours. An excellent breakfast, with freshly brewed coffee served in a china cup and saucer, a lovely touch. Bedroom was immaculate.

If I'm being picky, I would have liked blackout curtains in the room.

We really enjoyed our overnight stay at ARW. We received a lovely welcome when we arrived. The room was gorgeous - very well decorated, lovely bathroom, full size fridge (not a mini bar) and the Welsh cakes were a nice touch. Unfortunately we didn't eat in the restaurant as we were attending a birthday party elsewhere, but the menu looked great and we will come back to eat. We did have drinks in the bar. We had some very nice cocktails, some of which were devised at AWR by the very knowledgeable, attentive and friendly bar manager. I can recommend the Darwin Medal. The waitress was also very friendly and attentive. Breakfast in the restaurant was great. The restaurant decor is lovely. I would thoroughly recommend ARW.

The breakfast was a little disappointing. There was no buffet with fruit juice, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, etc which I like before a cooked beakfast. The full English breakfast was also a little disappointing as the poached egg was hard, the sausage not meaty and the fried bread cold. Also there was no marmalade with the toast. If the breakfast had been better and more in line with other B&B's, hotels, etc I would have given an excellent overall review.

The room was excellent - very comfortable and clean, with great facilities. I was out late and the after hours access was easy. I slept extremely well and woke refreshed and ready for the new day.

Breakfast was a big disappointment.

Our room and our evening meal were lovely. The restaurant was a little quiet but it was midweek. The staff in the evening could not have been more friendly and welcoming and the food and drinks were excellent.
