Peter and Jan’s property is absolutely ideal as a base if you are wanting to explore some of the Western Highlands, or climb Ben Nevis. The property itself has all the facilities you could want and is finished to a high standard. You can tell this property is a labour of love for Jan and Peter which makes it all the more special. Jan and Peter greeted us when we arrived at the property and were lovely hosts whom made us feel so comfortable but also gave us privacy during our stay. I would thoroughly recommended staying here. Just a note, you should consider hiring a car if you stay at this location! We did and it was our key to the rest of the highlands!

We had an exceptional stay at Alt-an Retreat Lodge. When we arrived Jan was there to greet us and was so lovely and welcoming. The moment you enter the property you can see this is a passion for Jan, it is tastefully decorated and nothing is overlooked. The welcome basket was a lovely touch, fresh bread, milk, cereal, eggs, jam and even an Easter egg. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was bliss. We genuinely couldn't find fault here and would love to return.

The driveway is very steep and directly off a busy main road. Scary getting into and out of the property!

Jan and her husband were very welcoming and left us extras in the fridge as we arrived late, The property is situated next to the lake and it might be quite tricky to park your car. We had a good time as there is everything what you need for a short stay. Clean and cosy ! And very specious... It is situated about 20 minutes walk to the main street with shops and restaurants.

Can’t think of anything, I was very happy and comfortable.

I loved the amazing view to the beautiful Loch, and waking up to it was incredible. Also loved the large skylight above the bed, it was a nice touch and gave good light into the space. Beautiful bathroom with towel warmer, and lovely tea and coffee. Most importantly Jan was so welcoming, friendly and helpful, even offering to give us a ride into town! Highly recommend !

The road runs right in front (but this was the case for the majority of the B&B’s) and it’s a 20ish minute walk into town.

Clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated and the patio has a great view of the water! The hosts were wonderful and went above and beyond for me!!

There was absolutely nothing that we didn’t like and yes it’s on a road, but this did not bother us and quite frankly, there is no road noise at night.

OMG where do i start! What a beautiful beautiful accommodation, there was nothing that we needed, Jan & Peter had thought of everything, from the BIG HUGGING mugs, to the amazing coffee machine and Suki Tea. Everything was of beautiful quality and the VIEW!!! Whow it was just so idilic, sat outside watching the sun ☀️ disappear behind the mountains. The service was second to none, we stayed two night and didn’t expect to have fresh towels, on our return from our day out, this is going above and beyond. The retreat was stocked with a folder of information on things to see and do, which is great if you don’t know the area, and a beautiful heart shaped, complementary basket, filled with eggs, bread, biscuits, crips and more, for our welcome. Such a fantastic stay, we absolutely loved it 🥰 and the hosts, definitely one to come back to. Tracey & Johan.

Very cozy, quite modern and well equipped apartment. Beautiful view from the bed to the Loch. Nice sky window above the bed to look at the stars. The ktichen has everything you need. Super lovely hosts. Jan suprised us with a local food welcome package. We loved everything and we highly recommend this!

Road outside the property...didn't bother us as it was too chilly to sit outside but can imagine it was noisy if you did. That said the view from your bed more than makes up for it
