Nice place to stay in north Hampshire
    • Leisure trip

    • Double Room

The wifi in our room was very 'iffy'. It didn't spoil our stay, but I spoke to Reception about it when we were checking out and they explained that there is a planned upgrade coming soon.

The room was large and comfortable and surprisingly quiet despite being on the front of the hotel. Breakfast was good and the staff very helpful. We had a small problem withour bathroom that was fixed with no fuss or drama - that is always a sign of a wellmanaged establishment.

Some poor alterations to the hotel, not very clean, a bit tatty, iron mark on the carpet, scum behind bathroom taps, booking room. Limited to how far you could open the window. Sausages at breakfast could be much improved.

Beautiful building with a lot of character. Local to wedding venue we were attending.

Bed was a little soft for my partners liking, I could have done with just one more pillow.

Lovely small hotel but good size room and fairly good facilities. Breakfast in the morning was great and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Could have been better bar service, and although we were fairly late for breakfast, there was nothing fresh left and nothing new bought out. Certainly wasn't going to eat the eggs and wasnt offered any "choice of eggs". Wasn't offered any service at all come to think of it and had to ask for a plate.

    Fairly nice, large hotel.

Perhaps the hotel could have been better maintained particularly in bathrooms, and the bedroom decor, fixtures and fittings were also slightly dated and worn. The overall atmosphere and feel of the place was however nice.

Checking in was easy and quick, the staff were very friendly, and helpful and dealt with a room issue quickly. Great location across from the train station in the middle of town. A nice but slightly dated building and interior, which perfectly suits the area!

Perfect location for the Alton Watercress Line. Very cheery and helpful staff, especially on parking, staff member moved their own car for us to park. Room clean, bathroom clean and lovely hot shower. Bed a little soft at the head area and a little small, but still fine. Unairconditioned but working fan provided, and large window to open, a peaceful, stay with no issues, very pleasant.

I had requested that staff helped my parents with luggage to room but this was not done. Presumed it go lost in noted

Convenient to travel to Froyle park however there are very few taxi companies and the hotel helped secure a taxi at night although it had to come from Farnham and was expensive for a 10min drive. Good breakfast provided . Room was spacious

Wasn't there long enough to have any dislikes. Q is the pool still there. If it was it wasn't advertised as such. If it wasn't then no need.

Very comfortable spacious room/s. Excellent breakfast. Staff very welcoming and friendly.

The room was perfect for a one night stay though could do with a little tidying up in terms of broken glass in windows. Though for the price paid it was a comfy, large, clean room. I would definitely stay again. It's not a five star hotel and the prices are reasonable for this world, so don't expect perfect. What you can expect is a great team of people, lots of food and a comfy bed.

The staff are great. Friendly, professional and very accommodating. Tasty cooked breakfast and plenty of it! I had a double room, it was big, clean and the bed was comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities in the room. Perfect location for the train station, its less than 5 minutes walk. And I forgot my toothbrush, so really pleased there was a close by convenience store to sort that out.

Broken bathroom bin. Toliet seat stained and needs replacing. Burnt/melted carpet from someone's iron in bedroom. Windows full of condensation so can't see out. Fan in bathroom didn't work either. Some large cracks in ceiling too. Had it just been one thing I probably wouldn't say anything but there were quite a few easy fixes that let the room down. Weirdly there was also a cricket bug in the room.

Double room (room 16) with ensuite, £119. Room was fine for what we needed, a queit place to sleep for the night. Staff very friendly and bed comfy, room queit. Would say though that the room and bathroom is quite dated, especially for over 100 pounds. That being said, I slept well and had no issues with noise etc.

The Internet WiFi service from the hotel had poor signal and the door locks were rather stiff, plus was surprised to find no lift in the building but I do understand that the premises is a preserved feature from the past before it turned into a hotel!

The setting of the hotel, decor, attentive staff, the breakfast layout and the cleanliness of the bedroom.
