The location is good, close to where the punting tours take off. The room is cosy, which was good in the chilly weather.

The bar does not open until 18.00 and so to get a coffee or an afternoon drink you need to go elsewhere. This was a shame as we would have liked to enjoy the hotel itself more on our return from the city before getting ready to go out for the evening. I appreciate there may not be the demand for this. We, instead, nipped across the way to buy hot drinks from the park and brought back to enjoy in the bar area. Not being able to buy water in the hotel was also a problem for us.

This is a friendly hotel with a good location to the centre of Cambridge. The bed was very comfortable and the cooked breakfast tasty. This is a wonderful Victorian building. We would have loved to know more about its history.

    Rather tired plumbing.

I particularly enjoyed the good quality ham and cheeses of the ‘Continental’ breakfast. The location is also wonderful, overlooking the Cam, next to Jesus Green and 10 minutes from the city centre

Small room adjacent to outside noisy compressors that fortunately stopped in the evening - restarted 06.45. Evening meal very average with overpriced wine. Many steps potentially causing mobility issues. Found hotel difficult to find with overgrown trees masking signage, car parking obscure.

Staff very pleasant - reception coping well under pressure with customers and telephone. Continental breakfast was good.

A bit more organisation of the tables, we ended up sitting at a large table that had other peoples dirty lates etc, because it hadn't been cleared and there was nowhere else to sit.

Breakfast was fine, although the tea from the flask was stewed and unpleasant. Why not hot water and a selection of tea bags.

The shower knob fell off when I turned the shower on, and I had to reach through the cold water spray to pick it up and adjust the shower.

    It was a convenient location.

I stayed in a room next to the ventilator of the kitchen I believe and didn't get notice that there was maintenance going on. There was noise and I also smelled food. Breakfast Staff were great and very helpfull. Staff at the welcome desk weren't as helpful as I expected. Particularly as one of the staff members had no knowledge of the local bus routes. I was given incorrect info.

The property was okay. The location is great, opposite of a park and punters! The room was clean. The shower was excellent Continental Breakfast included

The price was good because it was the "last minute booking room"; the central heating ducts were just outside the window, and it was rather noisy!

The location just across the road from the river and Jesus Green was fantastic. The continental breakfast was excellent, and the staff attentive. The room had everything I needed, and the price was good.

Rather tired decor in the public areas, especially on the stairs. The coffee at breakfast was very disappointing and not up to the standard of the rest of the breakfast fare..

We chose to eat in the hotel the first evening which was a mistake. Food not cooked, we had to send back as it was inedible. Was put right and handled well but should not happened. Only 2 tables were occupied, we now know why. Waiting and bar staff good. Menu not great. Very limited vegetarian options. Additional car park charges are steep but it is a good thing to have parking on site.

Lovely refurbished room/bathroom though pity the armchairs had not been reupholstered too and the very dated curtains had not been updated. Excellent comfy bed and good quality bedlinen and towels. Breakfast adequate but a shame they have stopped serving guests with tea/coffee brought to table, all help yourself now. Teapots rather than just small cups would be appreciated. I was up and down refilling our small cups! Pleasant reception staff and excellent new bar staff member. Staff good all round. Location is excellent for the river and city, the university etc.

Fire alarm going off around midnight....it was apparently a smoke alarm from one of the rooms but unclear to me if we were supposed to evacuate or not. I ended up checking out with reception.

Parking costs are a bit cheeky, check in was slow, our rooms were nowhere near each other in spite of request made6 months in advance and there's no lift so our 70 year old had to struggle up 4 flights of narrow twisty stairs with her suitcase.

The location is excellent which is why we chose it.the decor and ambience is comfortable

The only negative (which isn't a bad negative) I had was there was no mini fridge in the room. As I was there for work, I wanted to buy lunches and keep them in a fridge but was unable to do so. Again not a big negative by any means!

Location within Cambridge was excellent. The breakfast in the morning was lovely, and I especially loved the pastries and muffins. The room was comfortable and there were various Wi-Fis to connect to to ensure you had great internet connection wherever you went.

Room is next to noisy stairs, shower drain is slow. Breakfast is average. At least add some eggs for guests who are doing the half marathon as the rooms price are intentionally increased on this particular weekend.

Clean and near to the event’s venue.
