The location was perfect for access to Sidney Sussex College, where I was attending an event. The convenience of on site parking, albeit at a cost, was extremely helpful. Some of the hotel decor is a little tired but this was a very good value and convenient option for me on this occasion and I was very happy with the accommodation and helpful service

Dated property ( carpet threadbare ) , extra parking charge of £18 very excessive . Shower cubicle barely big enough to get in .

There is no lift, but I mentioned this and was given a ground floor room.

Comfortable room. Good location with easy walk into town across Jesus Green. Traditional feel to the place, but that is fine. Excellent WiFi. Breakfast is a buffet, and more than enough available to suit me. Staff helpful. I would stay again.

Rather dated decor and sounds from residents above our room were wholly intrusive particularly as it was 2am.

The 'continental' breakfast buffet as a bit limited in choice for such a busy hotel. The menu in the otherwise charming conservatory restaurant overlooking the garden is a little uninspiring - it could be more competitive, given the number of excellent alternatives in the town!

The double room was small and a little cramped, but comfortable and fully equipped, and quiet. The location of the hotel is ideal : within a short walk of Cambridge city centre and situated on the banks of the River Cam, opposite Jesus Green. It has a paying residents' car park, which is an asset so close to the largely pedestrianised city centre.

Chairs need a cleaning. Two of the desk staff spoke too fast and softly. Quaint spot with nice bedding.

The bar does not open until 18.00 and so to get a coffee or an afternoon drink you need to go elsewhere. This was a shame as we would have liked to enjoy the hotel itself more on our return from the city before getting ready to go out for the evening. I appreciate there may not be the demand for this. We, instead, nipped across the way to buy hot drinks from the park and brought back to enjoy in the bar area. Not being able to buy water in the hotel was also a problem for us.

This is a friendly hotel with a good location to the centre of Cambridge. The bed was very comfortable and the cooked breakfast tasty. This is a wonderful Victorian building. We would have loved to know more about its history.

    Rather tired plumbing.

I particularly enjoyed the good quality ham and cheeses of the ‘Continental’ breakfast. The location is also wonderful, overlooking the Cam, next to Jesus Green and 10 minutes from the city centre

Small room adjacent to outside noisy compressors that fortunately stopped in the evening - restarted 06.45. Evening meal very average with overpriced wine. Many steps potentially causing mobility issues. Found hotel difficult to find with overgrown trees masking signage, car parking obscure.

Staff very pleasant - reception coping well under pressure with customers and telephone. Continental breakfast was good.

A bit more organisation of the tables, we ended up sitting at a large table that had other peoples dirty lates etc, because it hadn't been cleared and there was nowhere else to sit.

Breakfast was fine, although the tea from the flask was stewed and unpleasant. Why not hot water and a selection of tea bags.

The shower knob fell off when I turned the shower on, and I had to reach through the cold water spray to pick it up and adjust the shower.

I stayed in a room next to the ventilator of the kitchen I believe and didn't get notice that there was maintenance going on. There was noise and I also smelled food. Breakfast Staff were great and very helpfull. Staff at the welcome desk weren't as helpful as I expected. Particularly as one of the staff members had no knowledge of the local bus routes. I was given incorrect info.

The property was okay. The location is great, opposite of a park and punters! The room was clean. The shower was excellent Continental Breakfast included

The price was good because it was the "last minute booking room"; the central heating ducts were just outside the window, and it was rather noisy!

The location just across the road from the river and Jesus Green was fantastic. The continental breakfast was excellent, and the staff attentive. The room had everything I needed, and the price was good.

Rather tired decor in the public areas, especially on the stairs. The coffee at breakfast was very disappointing and not up to the standard of the rest of the breakfast fare..

    The location was perfect.
