Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainWe were in one of the three rooms the basement right next to the kitchen and the breakfast room and apparently they are the same category (and price) as the rest of the rooms. They should be cheaper rooms as your window faces a wall below the sidewalk plus the bed is fitted between two walls with only 20cm to the wall in one the sides from the waist up, there is now way that passes as a 4 star hotel room. Breakfast service was poor as it will consistently take several minutes to get the drink order taken and also food was not replaced in a timely manner.
Location was good and the sourdough bread served during breakfast was excellent.

United KingdomThe shower was rubbish, very mean on tea bags and milk, we had to buy a bottle of milk ourselves. On leaving the hotel, we asked at the front desk if they would call a taxi for us, I could tell it was a mate of his, and this was confirmed when we had the price when we got out of the taxi, double the price of the taxi going to the hotel.
Mainly good. Staff were very nice.

BahrainIf I had to be critical then I would say that breakfast was the same everyday. If you wanted eggs or a full English breakfast you had to pay separately for that. It would be helpful to have the options on booking.com so when you book you are aware of it. It didn’t impact our stay as the conventional breakfast was great.
The location was excellent. It’s right next to Gloucester Road tube station and bus stop. It’s centrally located but not in a busy side of London. The rooms are spacious and match the photos. The bed was comfortable. There was tea and coffee facilities and the room was cleaned everyday. The breakfast is continental breakfast which was nice. The staff are very pleasant and helpful.

- staff were very helpful and friendly. - location nearby metro station through Picadilly line. - Clean rooms. - value per stay is good enough.

United StatesNot much to complain about. Facilities may have benefited from some very minor maintenance - the drain plug in the room sink did not work, and I would have liked an electrical outlet nearer to the bed for charging a phone (rather than having to use one on the opposite side of the room). The bed was okay, not the most comfortable but definitely not the worst I've had.
The staff was friendly and accommodating, the hotel is nicely furnished and clean, and the room was amazingly spacious (particularly by London standards). I love the location for easy Underground access into central London and to Heathrow. I've stayed at a few different properties in this same neighborhood and the Ashburn is definitely a good value! I will certainly consider staying here again.

IrelandLighting in bathroom is a little dim / dark for me personally for doing makeup and bathroom is v compact so not slot of room but it could do with a shelf and a wall magnifying mirror. No where for me to hang longer outfits / dresses as wardrobe v tight & contained coffee / tea / safe & misc except to leave them hanging on mirror outside. We managed and clean towels were plentiful. Front of hotel is rather dreary from outside especially at night. Could do with sprucing up and adding one/two flower boxes & warmer lighting. Staff we met were always nice.
Room is small, however adequate & comfortable.

RomaniaOur stay in the Queen Room at the Ashburn Hotel was a delightful experience. We found the room to be surprisingly spacious, especially when compared to the typical room sizes in London. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the magnificent bed; it was absolutely fabulous, providing a restful night's sleep. The room was very clean, although it's worth noting that, as an older building, some areas are showing signs of wear and could benefit from a bit of reconditioning. The location of the Ashburn Hotel couldn't have been better. Just a short 4-minute walk from the Gloucester Road tube station, it was extremely convenient for exploring the city. The hotel's staff deserves a special mention; they were not only friendly but also incredibly accommodating and polite, making us feel truly welcome throughout our stay. The breakfast offered at the hotel was quite satisfactory. In particular, the full English breakfast stood out as a delicious and hearty way to start the day. All in all, I would not hesitate to book a room at the Ashburn Hotel again. Our time there was lovely, and the convenient location, welcoming staff, and comfortable room made for a memorable stay. We stayed in room 703, and the only suggestion would be to address the toilet. The cistern took quite a long time to refill, but aside from this minor issue, everything in the room functioned as it should. We look forward to returning for another visit and would recommend the Ashburn Hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable and well-located stay in London.
