Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

room disapointing, 3/4 bed not double , bathroom door hit the bed hard to get in ensuite and into shower unit. shower so small could hardly shut door, could not fill kettle as it would not fit under tap, cups were tiny expresso cup size, useless for tea. the room should be a single room, but it was very clean.

United KingdomNo lamps in the room. Not great when you just want a low light before bed. Noise from the room upstairs was horrendous. Sounded like someone was having a wrestling match between the hours of 2-4am! Beds were quite hard, which I liked, but the other 2 guests thought they were uncomfortable. Pillows were too thin, and you needed 3+ to be comfy. Bathroom sink didn’t drain properly. Overpriced really, but it was Marathon Weekend
Location was good. Staff very pleasant

United KingdomThis isn't a hotel. It is rooms only as an annexe to the Belmont Hotel two doors down. Even at the Belmont the reception was unstaffed a lot of the time. Our room had no information e.g. Fire Alarm arrangements, Wifi etc details and the refreshment tea was minimal - two tea bags to cover afternoon arrival, evening and next morning.
Good location near Hyde Park and with Charing Cross and Paddington Tube stations close by. Comfortable bed and bathroom facilities all ok - hot water etc

United KingdomThe room was good, but the shower could do with a lot more pressure. It worked, but was more of a dribble than a flow.
The hotel is in a good location, within easy walking distance to local shops and the underground. Facilities are good, with all that you might need, if everything is a bit basic, then its still worth the cost. We had no issues at all and will stay here again when next in the area. Parking costs extra, and cannot be pre-booked, but we didn't have any problems.

United KingdomThe walls are paper thin, You could hear every movement from the room above and whenever anybody passed the room. The cleaning could definitely be improved, found hairs in the bedding, the air vent in the bath room hasn’t been touched for days and the toilet brush hadn’t been cleaned. No bottled water or biscuits in tea tray which were advertised.

United KingdomHotel listed as 3 star but was barely 2 star. Only 2 coffee and 4 cream provided, with 1 biscuit and 1 spoon. No glasses for water. After first night, coffee cups were replaced but no coffee and 2 cream and still just 1 biscuit. Toilet seat was broken and kept falling off. Rubbish bin in Bathroom had no pedal and the lid was not attached so had to prop it up and leave it open to avoid touching the lid for every use.
The location is perfect, short walk from Paddington Station. It was passable for a place to sleep.

NetherlandsThe rooms are small. We were with a family of four. You can't really sit in a two person room with four people. That is not really a problem, but compared to the first week it was a bit dissapointing. Although it is not the hotels fault. The room on the ground floor smelled like it had a fungs treatment or something like that. Smelled very strongly of a cleaning solution
We visited the Astoria two times in three weeks. At the beginning and at the end of our vacation. The first time with the whole family in one room. That was great. The second time in two rooms. The second stay was still okay, not as great as the first time. Compliments for the staff though. The remote for the tv was missing and they brought a new one very fast. The location was still great.
