Restaurant- disappointed with main course on first night order scallops at £23 which consisted of 2 scallops and 2 pieces of asparagus not great - but other meals were good just disappointing

We arrived at our room and they gave us someone's room as all their stuff was in it. Still had to pay full for the room did think we might get a discount or breakfast! Staff were helpful throughout tho.

In spite of taking the time to email a booking for breakfast, as requested by the hotel, we were asked again to book a time for breakfast when checking in, making the initial contact a waste of time. The check in staff said the latest table time was 9am, (which we booked), and that breakfast continued for some time after this. On getting to breakfast at 9 am, we were told the kitchen was about to close. And the restaurant staff still had our booking time as 8:30, the time I originally booked by email. So some inconsistency here. Despite stating a preference for rooms to be close together, our rooms were on separate floors. The communal areas were pleasant and modern, but the rooms were a little tired.

Communal areas clean and welcoming. Very good breakfast, friendly staff. Great transport links.

I have food intolerances and we had to book a meal with a group so I called ahead and the staff were fantastic and talked me through the menu. Everyone very helpful and everything was very clean. We will be booking again next time we need to be there

Was unable to book a spa treatment of my choice. Was told all slots had been booked. Although I had been trying to book a treatment a week in advance.

So having messaged ahead about requiring gluten free breakfast I wasn’t asked about allergies. When I asked I was given a load of stapled sheets but as is often the case individual items are not listed separately. So for example the Lancashire breakfast was a no-go but I was unable to work out what parts I could eat. Obviously not the toast and probably not the black pudding but could we sub gluten free toast??! The menu had just three dishes that were gluten free!! I was then informed that gluten free bread had run out! They did find some eventually but it was a really disappointing breakfast.

No plug sockets next to the bed. Poor choice of TV channels and a lot of the channels don't work. No access to streaming services or anything. Noise levels in the corridor.

The room was clean, good bath and shower, good pool and comfy bed. Fresh water and milk machines in the corridor is a really nice touch.

Room heating unit rattling loud

Had to change room as the heating unit was rattling loudly, can’t believe cleaners or other staff had not heard it, but was dealt with my reception staff very very well, and new room was ace!

The hotel is pretty far from stuff like restaurants and shops along with the fact that the breakfast required a menu, I personally prefer the hotels that let you choose and make your own breakfast, rather than giving you specific options.

The activities were very amusing, the rooms were spotless. Very clean. Polite and professional service, the outsides were very quiet.
