A very minor observation, poor wifi signal.

A warming cosy living area, perfect for a weekend retreat.

Overall decor and ambience was lovely. Clean and well equipped. Friendly shop and community pub. Spacious. Lovely hot shower. We didn't meet the hosts but Karen was very friendly and very helpful when we spoke on the phone.

A more comfy sofa and maybe a side table next to chair. Parking is a bit if a problem especially if you have a bigger car.

    Sorry can't say anything I didn't like.

Everything about this cottage was perfect. We only had to take Christmas food, everything else was made available for us. We were close to Cockermouth and Maryport. The local pub was great and all the locals were so friendly. It was so nice to see Karen on Christmas Eve. Will definitely return.

Not really a didn't like, just a heads up. I found the reverse parking into the parking outside the cottage easy, I live in a terraced street and reverse park all the time. For anyone who isn't, the boyfriend still stood opposite to check for traffic whilst I was parking. And the other traffic users were patient while I did park so don't rush the maneuver and it's easy xx

My boyfriend and I look for places with 2 separate bedrooms (he is a terrible sleeper and I have a CPAP machine). The fact this cottage had 2 very comfy double beds is brilliant, one of us normally ends up in a single bed! We also have to avoid pet friendly accommodation so this cottage was picked on those 2 criteria. Once we actually arrived the cottage exceeded our expectations. It is perfectly equipped and a home away from home. The sofa was different to the pictures, a large L shape rather than a 2 seater. Far better for relaxing on after a day of walking. It is situated for heading inland to the lakes or heading to coast and the main town is really easy to get to and park for a wander around. We will definitely want to book this place again when we are planning a break away in this area

Our only niggle was the lack of signal on our phones and intermittent wifi, its not the end of the world but it does make it a little difficult when planning/researching activities.

I took my daughter for a long weekend to celebrate her 30th. The cottage was beautiful, well decorated and clean and perfect for us with a very well equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge. The bathroom was gorgeous and both bedrooms were lovely with very comfortable beds. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.

Parking! Property is advertised with parking but there really isn’t enough space outside the cottage, without impacting other users/home owners. Didn’t have a problem parking on the road outside, so not a huge issue.

Great location, very clean and comfortable home from home, locals very friendly! Very cosy cottage showing lots of attention to detail, with friendly, caring hosts.

The only downside is the parking as on site parking is affected by neighbours requiring access at all times. However this is a small inconvenience compared with the overall excellent experience

Parking up in the narrow space alongside the property was a challenge.

It was a home from home in every sense - clean, cosy, well equipped and just a short drive from many attractions and scenic locations across the northern Lakes. The village has a well stocked shop and a friendly community-run pub - a few mins walk from the property.

Due to my limited mobility I found the stairs difficult especially as bannister rail did not go all the way up. Seating was also a slight issue. These are comments relating to my issues rather than the property itself. Parking in the village is also limited and difficult.

Very clean on arrival. Great instructions as to how to find and gain entry. The cottage extremely well equipped with everything needed to make the stay complete.

No handrail on the stairs bearing in mind most visitors have to take up/down a suitcase during the stay as well as daily trips using the stairs. Also a grab rail to be used for getting out of the bath when using the shower.

Excellent renovation of a old building giving modern facilities for our stay.

If being picky the cottage in places could do with some TLC / Freshening up. Also as caters for 4 people, sufficient glassware would be useful too (i.e. at least 4 wine glasses)

Pretty much all you need in a cottage in a good location with amenities close by at a really reasonable price. Hosts were fantastic, great communication and very accommodating.

It was a bit disappointing that the cleaner arrived bang on 10am and hassled us to leave when I asked for ‘just 5 mins’ to finish washing up and do a last check. Ended up leaving my birthday bouquet on the side, gutted.

Hosts’ communication very helpful and friendly. Cottage was clean and is finished really nicely. Two rooms with double beds which is hard to find (usually 1 double and 1 twin), with lovely cosy bedding.
