Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United KingdomI found the choice of food for vegetarians rather limited, especially for dinner. The hotel is at the W end of Banff and a little distance from most other things in the town, though this wasn't a major issue for myself. Booking.com did not make clear that the price quoted for the room did NOT include breakfast - it is actually cheaper to book direct with the hotel, as this avoids a £12.95 breakfast charge. I would also like to make it clear that I do not regard £80 for a room as a bargain - it is just less expensive than some places in the area.
The hotel is comfortable, serves a variety of food and drink and I found the staff, without exception, to be friendly and helpful. The location gave me a good starting point for the continuation of a long-distance walk I was doing along the coast of Scotland. There's also a beach within five minutes' walk and a bus passes the front door.
