How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. It was nice to have a friendly welcome on arrival. The hotel is lovely and quiet even though it's close to the town centre. I had a very comfortable, warm room and really comfortable bed I had a wonderful night's sleep and enjoyed a delicious well cooked English breakfast. Very friendly and helpful owner. I would definitely come again.

Absolutely nothing
1. Convenient B&B location; walking distance and close to the rail and bus station, restaurants, pubs, supermarket, and quality record shop (Museum Vinyl) 2. Attentive owner who prepares your breakfast each morning which was delicious 3. Quiet and comfortable beds for a good night sleep

The only possible problems might be the stairs to the property. It was also not easy to find the entrance and parking to the property.
The host Le was very friendly and accommodating. The house felt very homely and the room was very clean, tidy and comfortable. Breakfast was good and what I’ve asked for and at the time I asked for.

Everything!! Li is an exceptionally host. The room was comfortable and homely. Breakfast was delicious and every morning she checked requirements for the next Breakfast. Li gave us some good tips for places to visit managed to see three beaches in one day. 100% recommend staying here. The area was quiet not really suited for young people but there are plenty of things to do near by. Did manage to get some bits from the local Tk Maxx 🤫

Spacious comfortable room, excellent shower, all to a high standard. Super breakfast. Friendly and helpful. Few minutes walk Town centre Wetherspoons. Top location for touring Cornwall by train, bus or car, A30 15 minutes by car. Many thanks for a great stay.

I was in the loft room and loved that it was self contained and separate from the house giving me privacy and I could play my music without worrying about upsetting anyone. The owner Li is very welcoming and accommodating and made my stay a real home from home

Outstanding hostess Li, looked after us to an exceptionally high standard. Wonderful cooked breakfast with our own teapot & cafetiere each morning. Lovely en suite room with fresh towels, tea & coffee & hairdryer available. Ideal location for shops & college needed for our trip.

Because breakfast is pre-ordered, it is not hot enough when it is served. Presumably, this is to cut down on waiting time for guests but I would rather have hot food and wait five minutes. Access is very steep, both at back and front of the house, and a lot of steps are involved. I would not recommend it to anyone with limited mobility issues.
Li is a lovely host and is very approachable. Breakfast is pre-ordered the night before. Good, off road parking behind the house, though you may have to move your car to accommodate another guest leaving, if you are parked in front of them.

The bread used for the toast was a cheaper brand this could be improved on.
The host was very friendly and caring. We had a lovely breakfast each morning. Nothing was too much trouble.
