We loved it. Our host welcomed us with a glass of sherry on arrival. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and there was also a large common room we could use, with books, records and board games. Outside the room there was a fridge with fresh milk for our tea/coffee, restocked daily. Breakfast was great, and there were various vegetarian options. We only stayed for two nights, but could easily imagine a longer stay, just to relax. We stopped in Kirkcudbright as part of a longer trip to Scotland, and this was one of the best places we stayed at.

Geraldine and Joe were excellent hosts. The building is absolutely beautiful! The breakfast was very tasty and it's location is close to all amenities. 10/10 We will certainly recommend this accommodation to others.

Flawless accommodation. Beautiful house, delightful people who were extremely welcoming. Our room was fantastic, very luxurious but an unexpected bonus was the enormous guest lounge with sherry! The breakfast was one of the best we've had anywhere. On top of all that, secure indoor storage was provided for our bikes. A fabulous stay, thank you Geraldine and Joe.

The twin beds were not the most comfortable and not really big enough for a 6ft man. Advice on pre-booking evening meals would have been appreciated - we had to settle for a takeaway on the first evening as all local restaurants were full.

The guesthouse is in an elegant Georgian house on a quiet street. Geraldine and Joe made us feel very welcome. Lovely cooked breakfast. Our room was spacious and comfortable with two proper easy chairs. Lots of original artwork on the walls which gave it a homely feel - appopriate for the Artists' Town!

Geraldine and Joe couldn't have been nicer hosts. Our room was so very comfortable and clean. Both my daughter and I slept really well. It was so nice to have fresh milk for tea in a little fridge just outside our bedroom door. Breakfast was delicious, we both had a vegetarian breakfast both mornings of our stay. I particularly liked having a menu to choose exactly what we wanted instead of having lots of things set out (cereals, fruit, cheeses, etc) which probably meant less waste. The Baytree is set in an excellent location for exploring Kirkcudbright's lovely harbour, shops, cafes, galleries and museums on foot. I have no complaints

Really friendly owners. We had early starts meaning we would be away before breakfast. Our hosts made us a really substantial packed breakfast to take with us.

I was met on arrival by the owner and immediately made to feel at home. It's a lovely old house that has been tastefully decorated, so you feel at home rather than in an impersonal space. Very comfortable bedroom and spotlessly clean, along with the bathroom. I loved the teacup and saucer on the tray with the kettle. There was a lovely large sitting room for guests that sadly I didn't get to use. Breakfast was very nice and relaxing looking out onto a garden. On days I was up and away before breakfast, they kindly left me a couple of filled rolls and piece of fruit to take with me. Very close to the town centre but also very quiet. I would definitely stay again.

We liked the guest house, the breakfast was nicely cooked and tasty, the owners were very friendly and welcoming. There was a lovely lounge upstairs where you could relax with a glass of sherry. The bedroom was spacious with enough room for our dog cage (he slept well as did we).
