Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

United KingdomTV remote didn't work for the TV. The WiFi info in the welcome pack was wrong, had to locate WiFi router in the room to connect to the WiFi. The hover didn't work so had to be on hands and knees cleaning with the dust pan and brush. Bed and sofa could be more comfortable.
Reasonably clean. Good price. Quiet area. Close by to castle, beach, pubs etc. Apartment very spacious and quite modern furniture and fittings. Car park space at the back of the apartment, but there was space at the front of the apartment to park the car. Would stay again.

United KingdomThere were a few little niggles. Twin room had 2 very low beds in (ideal for children but not adults). Broken window in kitchen. Missing a little something with no tea or coffee. A welcome pack would have been nice - bread, butter, pastries etc
Fantastic location. Around the corner from the coast and bamburgh castle. Couple of eateries and pubs within walking distance. Apartment was clean and spacious. Adequate for our needs

United KingdomThere were several minor faults with the property - lightbulbs not working, no loo paper provided, loose mono bloc tap in kitchen sink that had hot/cold pipes reversed, one soft seat worn down significantly (had to put a cushion under it to level it off).

The apartment is huge! Great open space with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable living area. Bedrooms are also large. The location is perfect, lovely and quiet but just a five minute stroll to the pubs in the village.

United KingdomThe apartment appears to need a little TLC - paintwork tatty in places (indoors and outside, including front door - which provides the first impression), walls in the entrance scuffed, stairs carpet grubby, the kitchen sink and drainer was dirty and we didn't feel comfortable using it until we'd been to Seahouses to buy cleaning materials, bathroom sealant dirty/mouldy(?) for example. Basically needs a good clean and some details attending to.
Location was terrific. The apartment is pleasant and kitchen well equipped.

United KingdomNo toilet roll in the bathroom which was very disappointing. Especially for my pregnant wife after a 3 and a half hour journey to get there! Had to drive 10 mins to the nearest shop and buy our own. Some of the cooking utensils and cutlery were dirty. The kitchen tap was very wobbly and needs securing properly. The headboards in the bedroom were very grubby and need replacing.
There were two key safes which was a little confusing but once we found the right one we got the correct keys without any trouble. Convenient parking round the back, felt safe leaving the car there. The living room was comfortable and clean.
