There were several minor points of maintenance that needed attention. Peeling paint in the bathroom A shower head that fired water across the room to reach the other side and dripped on the floor A leaky valve on the toilet A sticking light switch in the bathroom. A blown lightbulb in the room itself.

Location, the building itself and the room were up to scratch. I can't fault the level of comfort that the rooms offer, quiet, enough space without being especially spacious and a perfect location on the main road but far enough away to avoid traffic noise. Parking was very convenient. We didn't partake in breakfast or an evening meal.

Putting the band in such a small space - poor bar staff couldn't hear to take orders and we had to eat in restaurant as too loud. No Greek yoghurt at breakfast despite being on menu and bread etc wasn't topped up so had to ask for a lot of the continental breakfast.

Friendly staff, comfy bed, large sofa and decent black out curtains! Excellent food in evening and a varied menu. Good location, short walk to town and decent independant shops.

Had a ground floor room, upstairs was quite noisy. Would recommend an upstairs room in the courtyard area.

Very comfortable courtyard room, nice bar and restaurant with good food. Good outdoor gardens for when the sun comes out.

    Bath / shower surface

Good location of room, even if it was rather tired around the edges. A let-down was how slippery the bath / shower base was - it come have done with some good non slip treatment.

Unfortunately, the entrance into the room corner area was in dire need of a good clean. There was quite a lot of rubbish around. But it was just that corner, so I think it was probably due to the bad we've had

Lovely greeting on arrival. Lovely big parking facilities. The room was really nice, I was a bit cold, but very comfortable. We are I the restaurant, which was very good. Breakfast was also good. All the staff were excellent. I will definitely be staying again.

The only downside I can tell is the small amount of light in the rooms, due to the small windows, so the rooms are quite dark. Also the wifi was not so stable, mostly had to manually reconnect after leaving property.

Very lovely experience with pub dining and stay. Breakfast was very good and dining in the restaurant was great as well. Good room too. Great atmosphere in the pub. Very good dishes and good value for money. Super friendly staff.

The shower and lack of toiletry selection. The courtyard could do with a bit of a tidy up.

The room was very good, overlooking the little river that flowed by, although the toiletries were minimal (one shower gel tube for all washing including handsoap) and the shower size was reduced by a curtain. Breakfast was adequate and dinner (not included in price) was good. Bar prices were very good. Dog facilities were very good and our dogs were welcomd by staff and fellow guests

Lovely place, with a nice comfy room, a nicely furnished, stylish bathroom, and a great welcoming staff. I was travelling on my bike and they allowed me to store it inside for the night. I went to the restaurant for dinner and food was good and affordable too. Absolutely recommended.

The room was very tired. No light bulb in bathroom. Tatty wood work. Shower soap and hand soap replacements not put in the locks old empty ones in the locked positions. Sheets appeared stained but clean As we had been in this room 9 months ago it had gone down hill badly. Needs maintenance.

Place needed a bit of TLC . The bar needed a clean up after a busy afternoon. The balcony and outside stairs to the room were very mossy. On arrival the staff member did not understand me and had very little English so told us we didn’t have a booking. Did not seem to be much at location but arrived late Acton a Bank Holiday so town was closed.

The room was well decorated and comfortable. It had everything needed for a night’s stay. The pub had reasonably pricyfood for an evening meal and breakfast. Good storage for bikes. Mostly the staff were really good like the man in charge and the young man serving in the evening.

Our room which had high ceilings in some places did have cobwebs, especially a very large one in the bathroom, and the back of the toilet obviously had replaced cisten why not use grey grouting like the rest of the room, something so simple spoiled such a beautiful bathroom.

The staff, everyone was so friendly and helpful, special mention to the lady who checked us in and was there at breakfast, sorry I can’t remember her name, lovely building and location.
