How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Blasé attitude shown by staff. Not unfriendly just indifferent. The one notable exception was the young receptionist who seemed to have genuine customer service skills. The food was very much like the rest of the experience, not good, not bad, mediocre just about sums it up. It's a handy place to stay, but a bit overpriced for what you get.
Location. Facilities pool, sauna steam room. Close to shops and retail parks. Ample parking

The hotel and spa as a whole needs to be refreshed, and some sound proofing when it comes to doors closing.

The heating was on the whole time when it didn't need to be in one room and in the other the heating could not be turned on. Both rooms were small-ish. TV didn't work at all in one of the rooms. Breakfast was passable, at best. Staff looked annoyed at us being there for breakfast.
The Pool - family loved the pool. Although pool showere were poor and tiling broken around shower area. Parking is ample.

As I mentioned, the whole place seems to have the correct intention but it’s heyday may have been 20 years ago and has let itself go a little. But still liked it.
The location of the property is excellent as we used it for the Ben Nevis climb. The property itself is great but it just seems like we missed its heyday.

hotel is very dated and the bathroom is so old it can’t look clean anymore even if it is. got maybe an hour of sleep throughout the whole night because there was an animal in the roof and the ceiling was creaking and thunking so loudly, I thought any second now whatever moose was stomping about up there would land in my room.

Room very small Bed was only a standard double Had to keep going to find member of.staff to get a drink from the bar. Breakfast very.expensive.

I was unable to turn down the radiator so the room was too hot. The vegetarian menu was extremely limited and when my food arrived in was undercooked.
Good price for a single room and staff were great.

Very dated with lots of damage to furnishings. Strange decor throughout. Outside of building in dire need of renovation. Leisure facility was OK but door to steam room needed force to open. There were no emergency buttons inside sauna/steam room. Bar staff through the back chatting and I got tired waiting to be served.

Both dining menus didn't reflect what was on their website which was disappointing as we travelled for a special occasion. One of the bar staff was particularly unhelpful. Asked if they done cocktails, flat out no when we got them the last time. Also asked for a drink to be in a tall glass and had to keep using the same one because apparently the hotel only had one? The room wasn't cleaned and towels weren't replenished
The hotel was clean and well presented. Great spa facilities and decent breakfast.

unable to use gym due to the bad weather the previous week and they had some leaking which isn't their fault however it would have been nice to have been notified on checking in or via email prior to arrival.
Swimming pool and jacuzzi was nice, food was nice, bar in the hotel which was nice yo chill out. Room was clean and tidy, spacious and comfortable.
