Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI could not take a shower as there was not enough electricity- I think.
The location of this place was very nice and peaceful. It is very natural and close to the river with very nice view. Fire place in the little house with very nice design inside. I really enjoy the stay with my family.

United KingdomInstructions on using the wood burner would be useful as having the property fill with smoke on lighting it might be worrying if you were unfamiliar with the quirkiness of wood-burners!
An extremely peaceful location

United KingdomWas taken slightly back initially by the glamping set up, nonetheless I embraced the whole experience and loved the tranquility, log fire and 9 hours of sleep.
The setting and 'off grid' experience was unexpected and unique. I enjoyed it very much, like being in the film 'Deliverance' should have taken a banjo for the verandah beside the river. Ridley was an accommodating and kind host as I turned up in the wrong place unexpectedly early.

United KingdomThis is not a negative but just a tip for Ridley, more lights for the garden would be great. That’s all, everything is perfect!
Highly recommend this stay if you want a quiet luxurious glamping experience. The surroundings are beautiful, the house is literally by the river Wye and it’s so peaceful, the inside is comfortable and well put together. We stayed one night and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Don’t hesitate booking it! Oh and Ridley, the owner, is friendly and great at communicating.

United Arab EmiratesThe toilets are outdoor, it was fine because we went in the summer but I can imagine it being very uncomfortable in the winter. The lights are solar powered so it needs to be switched on from the main power.
A lovely quiet little cottage in the middle of a farmland, also quite close to the main roads and other houses. Felt very safe even though it was very quiet and felt remote. Very cute loft, lovely fireplace and the decor was so nice.

United KingdomThe only downsides are the toilet and the shower. While useable, they turn a great lodge into more of a camping experience so would not be for everyone. It our case, we treated it like an adventure so it was a bit of fun.
It's a fantastic location, right by the river with off-road parking in a very quiet place. Cleanliness was excellent, and the bed was super-comfy. My friend also slept well on the fold-out bed - he didn't snore much so he must have! The weather was good so the outdoor cooking was fun. While there is pretty much nothing close by, it's only 5 min or so in the car to Builth Wells where there are shops, eateries, garages etc. Despite reading to contrary, I managed to get enough phone signal to stream music on EE, my friend is on O2 and was able to send photos and messages too. While there are lights and batteries inside I did take my own more powerful light which we were glad of. The river photo is just a short walk away from the lodge, the river by the lodge is fab too.

United KingdomNothing to complain about Wye Riverside Lodge exceeded our expectations, If I had to complain about something it would be that the weekend was too short.
I originally planned a camping trip with my two sons, but luckily we found the Wye Riverside Lodge. We wanted a ‘Boys’ weekend away without the hassle of putting up tents but still enjoying the outdoors and a good old-fashioned campfire. Located right on the river this cozy little lodge exceeded our expectations. It has all the basics you need, is very well-maintained and our host Ridley was extremely helpful and friendly. Really enjoyable weekend and we will definitely be visiting again.
