How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Great location, just a short walk to the top of the street and turn right and you have all the bars and restaurants you need, keep walking and you in the city in about 15 minutes. Chris was a great host, when he met us at the property he talked us through all we needed to know about the place and he gave us the lowdown on the local area and the best taxi firm to use, he also gave a great tip about the parking at the Giants Causeway.

The proprietors Chris and Alan were excellent. As Chris could not be there to meet us he contacted me with a video of how to enter the property and where he would leave the key. Alan sent me details of things to do in Belfast which was most helpful.

Nothing everything was great
Alan and Chris have made a little bit of heaven this appartament is absolutely fantastic my family and I had an amazing time in it we were going through a rough time we spent a lovely week here Alan and Chris just give you this beautiful appartament no corners cut here every thing is 5 stars and leave you to enjoy it can't you guys enough you are special people

Noise from students at night
Good welcome from hosts and communication. Good communal seating area and big dining table. Hosts let us in early and check out late which was much appreciated. Good value for money.

Great location close to all local attractions. Very helpful hosts from the moment of booking right up to the day of arrival. Very clean and spacious apartment. Excellent value for money. Would highly recommend.

This apt was ideal for my family’s stay in Belfast. Walking distance from the city centre, Botanic Gardens around the corner. Local shops, pubs and restaurants all within a short walk. Alan and Chris were friendly, helpful and always available if we needed them. They had some great knowledge about Belfast and the Surrounding areas to share :) Great value for money and ideal location to explore Belfast!

Mattresses lumpy & worn out on single beds, old towels with stains, could do with some new bedding. Sometimes noisy at night, but thanks for the earplugs

The shower in the main bathroom was disappointing and could do with replacing. Some areas of the apartment were rather shabby

The apartment looks very different than in the pictures. First we thought we were given another apartment than promised. There is very little light from the outside, and the whole place feels rather claustrophobic. Especially the second bathroom which is very small and smelly. The area is VERY problematic and not nice. We did not feel safe at all. It is way overpriced in our opinion and we would not go back. It should be rated 8 maximum and not be charged as high. Moreover, the owners push the guests to give them a high rate, which is not nice at all and does not reflect the actual situation. This is how they get such a high rate. We use booking very often, and had other expectations from a place rated that high. Unfortunately, this was not the case

We were not keen on the area. Lots of graffiti on walls, flower beds full of rubbish. The apartment was a little tired.
The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and we had everything we could have needed.

Alan and Chris were very friendly, contacting me before the trip and giving information about things to do etc. Were very responsive whilst we were there if we had any questions - so top hosts all-round. Location is good for University/Botanic gardens area. As we were a family of 5, without a car, we had a little issue getting around as larger taxis aren't too plentiful - so sometimes ended up having to get 2 taxis into main parts of city centre (although it is a walkable distance (15-20mins) if you don't have kids)!

Everything in this centrally located property (with parking) was great, from cleanliness to functionality to value for money. We were only booked in for two nights but the facilities are excellent and well suited to a much longer stay - two toilets and bathrooms a bonus. Factor in the amazing father & son team of Alan and Chris and anything less than a 10 review would be unfair. Well done to you both and cheers to Irish hospitality!
