Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo issues, other than due to the bedroom being huge it made the tv difficult to see, but wasn’t a major issue.
Really clean and tidy and very accommodating owners as I was later than originally planned. The room and facilities are really nice and everything was clean and comfy. The breakfast was great, especially the black pudding and scrambled eggs. Would definitely stop again when in the area.

United KingdomThe location was amazing - beautiful and so quiet. Carol and David were both so welcoming (especially as we booked at such short notice). They were the perfect hosts. The room was big with lovely views, spotlessly clean with a fab shower and such a comfortable bed. All in all, a fabulous stay and if we are in the area again would definitely stay again...... for longer!

United KingdomThe only slight complaint would be the 2 very low chairs in the bedroom. Not very practical for getting on and off.
The stay at Billerwell was tremendous. Needed somewhere for a one night stay and exceeded expectations. Exceptionally welcoming host in Carol, the room and ensuite were fantastic, and very comfortable, and the breakfast was fabulous. The house itself was charming and the 2 dogs were so friendly. Would definitely stay here again!

United KingdomThere was absolutely nothing to dislike here. The house is furnished to a very high standard and is relaxing to be in.
This is a marvellous place to stay. So private and quiet in the centre of beautiful countryside. I came last week on my way to Dundee and am here again returning to Yorkshire now. It's warm, very clean and very comfortable. Carol and David fall over themselves to be helpful. Their breakfast is exceptional. Yum. Good motorcyling roads are all around here, also cycling and good for cars too. . lots of new tarmac. Our hosts are very welcoming and will help you set the table for dinner if you have your own food as they don't do dinner. They also recommend other restaurants for evening meals nearby. I couldn't wait to come here again. It's like visiting family, you can be comfortable at Billerwell Farm. Actually I didn't see any farm animals, only a well behaved pet labrador dog. We will definitely stay here again. This is definitely a Jen Ten. :)

United KingdomThere was nothing to dislike here at all.
I liked the wonderful lady, Carol, and her husband who own and run this B&B. She explained everything perfectly and showed us round herself. They were both very helpful. The house was immaculate and spotless. All the decor was lovely. Gorgeous inside and out. Tidy garden too. Set in the middle of very peaceful countryside. Plenty of parking near the house. They came out to help us with luggage and welcomed us. It was just lovely. China cups for tea and coffee. Tea always tastes better in bone china. A special pretty teapot for my Earl Grey. The attention to detail is amazing in this house. It's lovely and homely. Carol had fabulous home made compote and local produce like sausages, honey, jam, fresh fruit and vegetables. Breakfast was one of the finest and probably the best I have ever had. Delicious and perfectly cooked. She had cereal too. And no I ve never met her before. :) I had a rare-for-me good nights sleep in the very comfy large bed. Crisp white sheets with a summer quilt in. There was also a very good shower and a bath in our en-suite, which filled quickly. I'm going again on our return journey from Scotland. Can't wait. The views from the windows are all fabulous countryside, fields and forest. The roads here are small quiet tarmacced tree-lined lanes, perfect for easy walking or cycling. The local woods appear well managed. Carol also recommended nearby places to eat in the evening. We ate a very good dinner at one of them. I felt very refreshed after my stay here.

Carol was gave us a warm and friendly welcome and gave us all the information we needed. She recommended a lovely restaurant in a nearby village for dinner; where we had a lovely meal. The full Scottish breakfast the next morning was really nice. It’s a nice quiet property in the middle of the countryside, ideal for peace and quiet.

United KingdomCarol and David were very welcoming and accommodating. The location was remote and provided the ambiance of the Scottish borders as i had hoped with the sheep out front and options for short brisk walks. Breakfast was excellent--a wide selection of choices made all members of my family happy!! Carol's omelettes were delicious! Our rooms were cozy yet spacious. Hoping to return again in the near future.
