Late check in with no flexibility unless you paid extra. I arrived 30 minutes early and was not allowed to check in till 4pm.

The bedroom was impeccably clean, modern and comfortable. Staff are super. Ate with friends in the restaurant - food was excellent and not way overpriced.

A cosy hotel with a good bar and restaurant. The room was small but comfortable and had all required amenities.

The room was advertised as having fluffy robes which were not in the room. There was no hot water in our room (number 6)on the Sunday morning and no one was available to speak to about this. For the money with no breakfast option we thought a little expensive. Our water wasn’t replenished for our second night likewise our coffee and sugar were not refilled. A small fridge in the room would have possibly been an option for people to at least keep something for a breakfast option.

Location was great. Very nice bar and food.

The fact that we had no.idea that the restaurant and bar were closing at 5.30pm......Bank Holiday We should have been alerted at time of booking I feel. Old friends meeting up, we were hoping to spend all.out time at the Black Bull but had to go out to eat that evening.

Like the vibe. Accommodation above expectation. Bar area cosy and conducive to chatting. Perfect place for a Scot, a South African and an Australian to meet up for first time in 3 years

My only grumble was and the reason for not getting a 10, I think our room was above the boiler house and occasionally through the night we got rumblings from the plumbing, possibly air in the system but apart from that we enjoyed our stay.

We could not fault the room and facilities, All our party had great rooms and we stayed for dinner in the bar, the service was good as was the food. I would highly recommend The Black Bull as a great place to stay.

Didn’t realise until once booked that it was £30 for a day for 1 night think that should of been listed as probably wouldn’t of booked it, I expect a charge but £30 for 1 night seemed a bit steep

Lovely room nice little touches in regards to sweets and hot chocolates for the kids, lovely and warm on arrival and large comfy bed

There is no breakfast offering which did not really matter as were leaving early but there are cafes nearby that we could have gone to.

Excellent location, nice clean room. Food in pub was fantastic and would recommend booking a table as was very busy.

The Black Bull doesn't serve breakfast so we had to eat breakfast elsewhere. Again there are places in the town so that was not a particular problem.

The room was good and attractive with all facilities provided. There are plenty of places to eat in the town and we could have eaten at the Black Bull itself. A great place for a short stay.

Bar food is generally below average. Looks good and tries hard but consistly misses the mark. tried a few times throughtout the year and always a let down. real pity. Shower in the room (14) was low and a real squeeze.

Bedrooms are contisitnaly good standard. Clean, well equiped and comfy Access is fine Staff ALWAYS great DOG Friendly. Nice vibe. Quiet Bar is popular and nice.

More of a hotel than a pub for drinking in.

Good location, really good room, quite compact, but very comfortable, good bathroom. Beer was well kept, food was good also, I had Cullen Skink, delicious and creamy, and the haggis pie which was also good. Staff were efficient and helpful.

The Black Bull Inn is a traditional pub with accommodation. Our room was in an annexe with a door onto the pavement of the main road. Grass area for the dog was a little way down the road, not within the Black Bull premises. The Inn has no parking of its own, though we were able to park very close to our room in the street. Overall it was quite an expensive overnight stay.

Dog friendly - dogs allowed in the bar area for supper and breakfast. Dog food, bowl and blanket provided, though we, as most dog owners would, brought our own. Moffat is a pretty town with pleasant walks close to the A74(M).
