Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

UkraineThe first level of bed has really short hight, so you can't even sit in a bed, when you woke up. You can't even sit and check the phone, because that's not comfortly. Another thing it was cold in the room, the radiator was cold as well when i went to bed. I wore my hoodie and woke up in a midnight about sweating, because the heating was turn on.
The hostel was easy to find and close to the bus/railway station. The staff was friendly. Room and showers were really clean. Didn’t used the kitchen area, but another areas were nice. And the price was very affordable!

Czech RepublicIf your luggage is heavy, you need to carry it up the stairs, as there is no lift. The bathroom only has lights in the main area, but not inside the cubicles, so you're almost showering in the dark, this must be fixed! Luggage storage does not lock. Situated on the main street so not completely quiet at night.
Really close to bus and train stations, WiFi is very quick, I had a dorm for myself which was really comfortable.

United KingdomTowels are not provided; curtains could be integrated into the beds for privacy; there is no wardrobe or rack for hanging jackets; and two pillows could be provided on each bed.
The location, kitchen and common room is very fantabulous.

MalaysiaOne of the toilet seats were broken. Dorm door slams shut and can disturb sleep if not closed gently.
It was clean and quiet — however I visited during a quiet season. Beds comfy and check in process was smooth. Location to the train station is great.

United KingdomVery loud noise outside our room, as hostel is located right above the nightclub. Loud bass music was on till 3am but I guess it isn't Hostel's fault. Night was a bit pricy for hostel, was expecting ten pounds cheaper.
Appropriately good hostel, with expected conditions. Clean facilities, very good Internet, nice kitchen and communal areas with everything you need. Relatively comfortable bed. Heat radiators working well. Nice showers.

SpainThe pillows could be a little bit better, but that is a very minor detail, the hostel is very good.
The location of the hostel is perfect, right in the city centre of Inverness. The staff is very friendly and nice, specially Fraser, who was very helpful and kind.

GermanyThe kitchen was a bit too small and narrow when you were inside with more than three people.
The hostel was a little one were you felt like in a big family. All travellers and staff were friendly and you could have good conversations. The “living room” was cozy because of the floor in it and the interior.

United KingdomThe thermostat was on a bit too high by default in the dorms and bathrooms. There are motion sensors around the building which flicker the lights on and off with very little provocation (though not in the dorms). Out of season, most other guests were there for work, which limited the social scene, though there was no-one I found aggressive or unpleasant.
First and foremost, it was £99.40 for four nights, which was a big improvement on the frankly unacceptable amounts being charged by similar establishments in Inverness. The location, right next to the bus station and within a short walk of the railway station and most other facilities, was hard to beat. Facilities were pretty clean and comfortable, all told and, outside the main tourist season, there was plenty of room. There's also a selection of reading matter to suit most tastes and a small but reasonably well-equipped kitchen (you can also bring-in takeaways).

Canada- If you have heavy luggage keep in mind the reception is in 3rd floor and there's no elevator. - The lockers are cages so it may be not safe for small objects.
- Location is just 5 mins away from the bus and also train station. - Big rooms, enough space to place your baggage
