They had a live band playing which was extremely loud, not just loud. This was not disclosed at the time of booking. Would not have paid £90 for this.

    Location was central

Room cleanliness, shower was a disgrace, I didn't shower because of that. That in itself is not good, it was quite insecure too, I didn't feel that the security was good enough, room lock and outside door lock?

The initial greeting was good, an idea of parking location needs to be advised with booking as it is not easy to find.

Looking at some of the previous reviews, guests have experienced problems with the facilities. Sadly, it looks like they haven't been rectified, which is disappointing. I would say that if you are of a fragile middleclass disposition, you won't like the pub or it's clientele. However apart from walking 3 metres through the bar, there is no need to "join in and make friends". The only reason that I haven't given a higher rating, is that I think £70 a night is a bit rich for what you get. Include a fry up and I would have been a happy bunny.

The staff were very helpful. The room (and Inn) are very basic and pretty tired. It's like doing a bit of time travel, as it's been a while since I've had a "woodchip wallpaper/magnolia" experience! The important basics were fine: comfortable clean bed and the dated Ensuite was mostly functional. It may have been that we were on the top floor, but the room was quiet and we slept well (Fri/Sat nights). The room served it's purpose!

The TV came on all by itself, there was no sink plug so I used toilet paper when I let the water go the drain in the shower spewed out black stinking water. We will not be coming back.

Staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was very clean.

There was a radiator in the room but it couldn't be turned on and the weather was very cold. The shower alternated from cold to boiling hot so we couldn't use it. It would have been nice to have had somewhere to put our bags other than on the floor. A small table would have been useful to put our cups on after we'd made a cup of tea.

The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Tea and coffee facilities were provided. The beds were comfortable and clean and we had a good nights sleep. We were allowed to keep our car in their car park for a few hours after we had checked out. Well placed for access to the town centre. There were a few issues but for the price we paid we would stay there again.

Greeting unfriendly. Very rough pub. Head banging music below our room until almost midnight. Told to.park on supermarket car park or a rear of pub where deliveries arrive. Felt very unsafe. Had to carry luggage from car all the way to front entrance. No food provided. Told to put our key in in box when leaving and exit via back door. Yet again quite a,walk with luggage. Awful awful place. Just a rough pub. Suggest you do some checking. We are 2 elderly females. Very very disappointed.

Ensuite was very cramped and dirty, being an old building I get it'll cost alot to modernise but It does need doing.

There was no breakfast. There was no double bed. We saw no staff after check in. No maid service. Towels not renewed. Beds not made in the morning. Only one mirror, a small one in the bathroom.

Very clean. In a great location for us.

The access to the room was poor. The stairs were very steep and narrow with a very low ceiling. We felt that it could’ve been a fire risk There was no breakfast even though it was advertised as a b&b. We were locked in the pub on our first morning!

The staff in the pub were very friendly and helped us as much as they could, although the young woman on the bar looked very bewildered when we arrived and obviously wasn’t expecting us!

Bed not made. Stained carpets and sofa. Mouldy wallpaper peeling off. Box with pizza leftovers in wardrobe, no apology offered for that.

Accessible location. Beds and pillows comfortable enough. Spacious room. Nice town but two of its hotels are boarded up.

When the Pub Car Park is full or blocked we were told to use the Co-op Car park next door. This has signs everywhere warning of large parking fines. Guests with cars that are told to use this car park by the pub management should be provided with some kind of windscreen sticker to re-assure them that they will not be fined by the Co-op's enforcement people. We felt nervous every time we had to park there.

    Staff are always nice.
