The remote control on the TV didn't turn it off so I had to switch it off at the mains.

The place was easy to find and ideal for my itinerary. The breakfast was very good and the evening meal was tasty and filling after a long day. Convenient parking nearby. the staff were accommodating as I arrived later than I had hoped to.

The breakfast staff were incredibly rude, were telling personal stories (and swearing) whilst serving. Very unprofessional. This is in contrast to the lovely staff at dinner the night before. There was nowhere to put my case, so it would make a big difference to make it possible to put it under the bed. I appreciate its cheap accommodation, but there is no floor space. The bedding and particularly the pillows were very worn and old. It wouldn’t take much to buy new ones. There was dust on the kettle and radiator. It wouldn’t go a miss to give it a quick paint job

The restaurant attached was excellent. The food and dinner staff were lovely. It was cheap accommodation to just lay my head for a few nights.

The price was very competitive, but it was literally the smallest single room I have ever seen. Fortunately it was one night, so managed but cannot imagine any longer than that.

The curtains don’t fit the window, (room 3) so if it had been a sunny morning we’d have been woken much earlier. Correcting this would make a significant difference for little effort. The bathroom had mould build up on the shower area.

Loved the decor in the restaurant. The room was more basic and in need of some tlc.

As usual hotels are always so hot. Not sure what that’s all about. Even with the bathroom and main room windows open it was like an oven. There is a fan provided in the room. Everything else was great.

We stayed in the deluxe double room which was lovely. Great big bed. Huge bath and double shower. Restaurant was really nice we had some great food and the bar had live music on at night which was fun.

Curtains didn't fit the curtain rail, blind on the window didn't actually have a blind in it just the casing, bed base was king size but only a double matress and bedrooms could do with a wardrobe and drawers as nowhere to actually place clothing.

The staff were very receptive to my other halfs Gluten Intolerance. The location and remoteness made it lovely and quiet. Staff were really nice and friendly always greeting you with a smile. Food was exceptional honestly great value for the evening meal and was amazing quality, so tasty and a broad range of things that were gluten free

My partner and I agreed that nothing could have been improved. It was just brilliant. The shower was the most amazing thing I have every seen! We are still talking about it!

The restaurant was excellent for both dinner and breakfast. The service was superb and the staff couldn't have been nicer. In the future if I was in the area I would divert to stay at the Black Bull.

Black mould in bathroom. Difficult to close the curtains. No restaurant facilities available at the period of our stay and locally few alternatives.

We were able to select from a selection of cereals, and cooked items. Beverage top ups available along with extra rounds of toast and preserves but no marmalade or marmite.

The only thing was there was a band and they played well into the night and I could feel the room shaking with the noise of the music. So kept me up a bit. I didn’t mind but other guest may find this off putting.

The only draw back was 2 of the rooms were above the bar and there was entertainment on which was very very loud to the point it rattled the furniture in our rooms but that was just the one night and wouldn't put us off going back we would just request rooms above the restaurant and not the bar...ha ha ha
