We had a great stay at Blas Gwyr, Dafydd was a great host. Nice sized room with a comfortable bed and great shower in the en suite. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning. In a beautiful location with a parking spot!

No soap provided to wash your hands in the room; we had brought shower gel but no liquid or cake of soap to wash hands after using the toilet

Breakfast was delicious; I had continental breakfast - a good quality muesli with fruit platter - all fruits perfectly ripe and a selection of 3 different fruits each morning. Partner had cooked breakfast - all good quality ingredients perfectly cooked .

Pet friendly is not what I would call correct. They are tolerated but that is it. You cannot take your pet into the Dining room and you cannot leave them in the room. So where are they to go? Because I was the only person there for a few days. I was allowed to take my pet into the dining room, on those days where was other guests. I was made a breakfast box.

Breakfast was very good, Host very friendly. was able to park my car without any problem despite building material being ready for use.

Rooms were not as spacious as expected and furnishing tired looking. Towels only were changed on third day of stay. Breakfast was not buffet as described but basic fruit, cereal on request, and croissants and toast/Welsh cakes. Cooked breakfasts were basic i.e. one sausage, one slice of bacon, tomatoes and mushrooms and what tasted like cheap vegetarian sausages. Welsh specialities described on website not on offer. Would not in any way consider this a 5* property. Website definitely need an update as ratings and many reviews (including the 14 year old one from Observer which born no relation to our stay) very much out of date.

Good location, comfortable rooms. Appreciated dressing gowns. Choice of breakfasts, either cooked or light continental. Parking on site. Friendly welcoming host.

Hard to find initially, postcode doesn’t take you to actual property. It’s further down the road.

The Gower is a place of natural beauty and needs sunshine. Blas Gwwyr offers the ideal base for hiking/ walking holidays, but in my opinion, it provides little for families because of its remoteness. The breakfast was cooked fresh and very good. The local pub served excellent food.

I was informed it was a superior room with a wet room. There was no wet room, I had to go up a flight of stairs to the toilet. The shower was a hand held shower inside a deep bathtub and a sloping roof. It was extremely difficult to have a shower and wash my hair. I had to pay extra for a breakfast which was the worst breakfast I have had at a b&b, so I didn’t it order a breakfast the last 2 mornings and drove to a coffee shop 40 minutes away by car.

    Comfy bed and room

Not enough surfaces in the bedroom to put stuff on as the kettle and tea tray took up most of the dressing table. For the price disappointed breakfast wasn’t included. If we wanted to pay extra for breakfast the menu had no prices and wasn’t sure about what was available as limited to 3 people in the restaurant?? Also I read somewhere that dogs went free at this b&b but was asked for additional £10 as we were leaving.

The room / bathroom was really nice. Bed really comfortable nice white fluffy towels. Perfect location for us Lovely and warm and cosy and good that you could adjust the temperature ourself with thermostat.

The room didn't have a wardrobe or even drawers to store clothing. Fine for an overnight but we stayed 3 nights. The hot water wasn't constantly available so depending on other guests usage, it was pot luck if we had a hot shower. Our room also had shower over bath but really low ceiling and despite water pressure being amazing you couldn't stand tall to use the shower appliance. Cleanliness was good in all main areas but blinds and corners very dusty. Lack of fridge: this would be a great addition for any b&b to help guests store wine / water / milk Zero toiletries: I understand covid may limit what can be provided but I think for the price it would have been good to provide basic items like shower gel shampoo etc. We knew this in advance so had brought our own items.

Loved the location, perfect for taking a short drive to hillend car park (£5 for the day) and going the beautiful walk from llangennith to rhossili bay along the beach. The room was lovely and the bed 10/10 comfort - much needed after long walks! Dafydd very helpful in providing us with ironing board and bottle opener! He also provided us with bowls as we didn't want to pay the additional charge for breakfast (£12 per person) so we had brought our own cereal.

There was a large sofa bed in the room as well as the double bed. This was so uncomfortable to sit on that we didn't when had it been a real sofa it would have made a lovely room. The bathroom was very nicely done but the lack of a shower curtain or screen meant one had to sit/lie in the bath to use the shower.

Breakfast was excellent. The room was attractive and imaginatively designed. The location was very good.

There was no hand wash in the bathroom. Not even a bar of soap. I’ve stayed in places much cheaper and not been short changed on this most basic thing. Didn’t appreciate having to text our breakfast request to the host. Would be fine if we were in an area with decent reception. An alternative would be to just have a form to fill in.

The room was a good size.
