Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Beautiful & very comfortable retreat in a stunning location. I needed a mini escape & here was perfect. Just the sounds of wildlife whilst watching stunning sunsets & sunrises. Will definitely be back to experience different seasons. The log burner kept the hut amazingly warm & toasty. (It reached minus 3 one night) Everything needed was there, but I was reassured that if I did need anything else, I could just ask. Just wonderful.

United KingdomThe hut was beautifully fitted out and felt very spacious considering its compact size. The stove kept the hut incredibly warm and the shower was really fantastic. Couldnt ask for a better view of the lake from the main doors, tranquility quarenteed.

United KingdomNothing! It was amazing!
Felt remote. So quiet and comfortable. Made to feel at ease by the hosts. The hut was extremely clean and comfortable. Both the indoor fire and the outdoor fire made it so cosy it was untrue, exactly what we needed.

I had a wonderful time. The Hut is such a cosy and secluded place to stay, surrounded by trees and with a direct view of the pond. Ross did an amazing job building and decorating it. So if you like being away from the hustle and bustle in a natural environment, you can't go wrong. No internet available, which I knew and did not mind at all. Just go and have a lovely meal in The Ewe & Lamb and send your holiday pictures from there.

United KingdomNothing.
The hut is like a tardis and was much bigger on the inside than I expected. The hut was clean and decorated beautifully. Being able to sit outside, looking over the pond, in complete silence apart from the sound of birds, sheep and cows was bliss. Ross and Gemma were really friendly, welcoming and helpful. We will definitely be coming back.

beautiful little retreat in a wonderfully quiet setting close enough to places to visit and lovely eateries and bars but far enough out the way to be peaceful. Ross was great from the moment we arrived suggesting local places to visit and where was best to eat.

United KingdomThere is really nothing to dislike about this property. It is just perfect
This is one of those properties that I am not sure I want to review. Why? Because I want this to remain a hidden gem. I booked this as part of a 50th birthday present for my partner. Never stayed in a shepherds hut, so wasn't sure what to expect. From the date of the booking, the hosts couldn't have been more helpful. On arrival at the property, Ross welcomed us and showed us round the property. He also gave some good ideas for what to do in the local area. The hut is petite but manages to provide all you need. There is a very comfortable double bed at one end, a small dining area, kitchen and shower room. I didn't have high hopes for the shower, expecting low water pressure but that wasn't the case. No issues what so ever. For a small property, this has a luxury feel. It is located in the rear garden on the main house, but with such a big garden, it is totally private, hidden behind a row of trees, The view from the front is of a very large natural pond, with ducks and moorhens as the regular residents. We were visited by the bats overhead in the evenings and managed to get a sighting of the kingfisher. Horses in the field next door made for some great neighbors. You really wont go wrong with this property if you are looking for a relaxing break. Absolutely loved it and will return
