Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWarm welcome from the Proprietors Gail & Kevin, who were wonderful. Cosy, spotless room with great facilities and a super comfy bed. Delicious cooked breakfast every morning, lots of choice. Brilliant recommendations for places to visit. Fab location for exploring and walks. Gail really went the extra mile when she baked us an Anniversary cake to take home with us. We had a perfect Anniversary weekend.

AustraliaThis Inn has the perfect location for discovering Brecon Beacons. It is very conveniently located, making it easy to access hikes, to visit local restaurants and pubs. But what stood out the most is the hospitality received from Gail; throughout our stay, she went above and beyond to help make our stay perfect. She has such a fantastic energy and it made our experience in Wales unforgettable. Thank you!

From the moment we arrived at Borderers Inn in Brecon, Gail, our host, made our stay exceptionally welcoming. She was not only attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable about the area, which added a personal touch to our experience. Gail graciously offered us a complimentary upgrade to a larger room upon our arrival. The room itself was a delight, boasting a very comfortable bed and well-functioning facilities, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. Breakfast at Borderers Inn was a daily highlight. Gail and Kevin prepared a full English breakfast that could be customised to our liking, ensuring each meal was to our taste. Additionally, she offered pancakes, cereals, fruits, and a selection of teas and coffees, catering to all palates. The location of the guesthouse is another great advantage. It's perfectly positioned for easy access to the centre of Brecon and close to Pen Y Fan for those looking to explore the natural beauty of the area. While the on-site parking is a bit snug—best suited for smaller vehicles—it's a minor consideration given the overall excellence of our stay. Gail's dedication to ensuring that we felt at home was evident throughout our visit. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We highly recommend Borderers Inn to anyone visiting Brecon, and we hope to return one day ourselves!

United KingdomA few things needed a little TLC in the room, some touching up of the decoration. One pair of curtains was weirdly long and dragged about a foot on the floor.
Comfy bed. Great shower. Tea leaves provided in the room! Gail (host) was lovely. Very quiet at night. Lots of plug sockets. Extremely handy for the town.

United KingdomAn excellent location, right in the heart of Brecon, but not too close to the centre of town as to be noisy. Bedroom and bathroom were perfectly sized for a couple, incredibly clean, well looked after and very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, the perfect portion size, and with a really good variety of options and customisation. Gail is incredibly knowledgeable about Brecon, with loads of recommendations - I'd take her up on her advice! We will definitely be returning!

United KingdomBehaviour of some other guests was less than ideal one night - Gail very kindly made me a takeaway breakfast so I could catch up with lost sleep
Gail is an exceptional hostess - very kind and interesting to talk to and knows how to make a great vegan breakfast. Brecon is an interesting town and the inn is well placed for exploring it. We enjoyed visiting the theatre, cathedral and museum/art gallery (all of which are minutes away on foot), going on a canal ride, and wandering around looking at some of the historic buildings, many of which have plaques.

IrelandWe loved it so much! Can’t wait to come back. Thank you Gale
We love historical buildings and this old coaching Inn was built in the 17th century. We were thrilled to experience the quirky interiors!!! But also grateful for the freshly decorated interiors which are so much more comfortable than the 17th century (think indoor plumbing and cosy beds!). And oh we will miss those delicious breakfasts! As advised before booking, the car park is small, but we brought the small car because we were told about this early on!

United Kingdomabsolutely nothing, i enjoyed every single thing. I was warned about the car park before hand so it didn't matter as I found street side parking easily
I had a very peaceful, relaxed break away, as there was one other room free, I was given a choice between the two. I think the next time i will call to ensure i get the ground floor room I had again. Breakfast was gorgeous, I didn't need to eat till dinner. I promised Gail i would comments about the car park in my review. Do not disregards Gail's warnings about the car park, it really is small, the building complex dates from 1645 and was built for horses and carriages. If your car is medium to large, then be warned you might not be able to park inside.
