The room was very small and very dated, the lighting was really poor, the beds were really firm (But I am used to a memory foam mattress) these are just the picky bits, to be honest I thought for the price we paid I the hotel sufficed it was clean, just needed a over hall and some updating and perhaps new mattresses'. One word of advice, you have to book everywhere if you want to eat out, you cannot just turn up at the pubs in the town as you will not get a table.

The staff are exceptional, they are all really friendly and helpful, breakfast was excellent and the waiters always chatted and made jokes, nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff and they made us feel really welcome, the pool looked clean and we did see people using it but as I didn't use it myself I cant really comment. The hotel was only a 10 min walk to the little town where there were some lovely pubs and cafes.

Rooms are a bit dated, but very clean and perfectly functional.

Bedroom was shabby, no hot water, curtains hanging off the rail, no sound insulation meant very noisy from room above and next door. However the rest of the hotel was charming.

Lack of car parking spaces. Towels and cups cleaned every three days and no one came and cleaned in the room ( covid regulations still) Air con blowing above us in the breakfast room

The hotel is a little tired in places but on the whole clean. There were a number of cobwebs in my room and the drapes over the bed were a bit dusty but that’s me being picky. I’m sure they wouldn’t have bothered some people. The shower head needs replacing or descaling, water came out at a good force but I don’t think any of it actually went straight down. Sprayed off in all angles. And the tv was a bit small but we weren’t there to watch Tv.

The location of the hotel is great for Shanklin, it’s an easy downhill 10 minute walk to local restaurants and a further 5 minutes to the seafront. The hotel is also in a great location to reach the coastal path. The staff are fantastic and do all they can to fulfill your requests and give you a great experience. The breakfast was lovely and you have so much choice. We only had dinner once in the hotel and my husband really enjoyed his pie!

The hotel wasn't cleaned enough with obvious dirt and cobwebs. Also some of the mattresses were a bit hard. The whole hotel could have done with a good spring clean.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was lovely and old and in a nice area. It also had nice swimming pools. The rooms were a good size and bathrooms were clean.

We were advised of a wedding the wkend we stayed & there would be no restaurant on the Saturday, only to be told on arrival the restaurant was also closed the Friday evening & Sunday evening! Breakfast however was plentiful & very gd. Music didn’t end at 11.30 as informed, but went on until midnight at full noise level. Also our room was above the function room?? Being non wedding guests it would’ve made sense to put us away from the function, not on top of it? They view from the room was the hotel roof. The hotel itself is very dated & in need of extreme updating. Because it’s a Manor it can still be tasteful. Very tired, marked furniture in our room. The cleanliness of the room was acceptable but the rest of the hotel was a shocker in truth. I didn’t think they possessed a hoover until I did see 1 on the morning of leaving! I feel the hotel was understaffed but still trying to run fully booked. Pool areas are again in need of updating & major cleaning overall. We enjoyed our time there but sadly wouldn’t recommend or return. There are much nicer places very near by!
