Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe bed was comfy but the head board was moving. And a lady with heels staying above was super noisy stumping around.
Room was so clean- little fridge was very handy. Plenty of coffee, some water. So well kept. Staff really friendly. Location was superb right in Brick Lane. Would definitely recommend if you are on a budget.

FinlandThe hotel is very simple, but the staff is amazingly kind and accomodating. We spent 4 nights and really enjoyed our stay. I was concerned about the noise - as many reviewers report that - but while it is true that noise in the corridors do go inside rooms a lot, the hotel staff makes all efforts to ensure that silence is kept after 23:00. The location is excellent!

United KingdomTV was positioned awkwardly in terms of the bed in a room we stayed, such a large room could easily accommodate king size bed rather then double with lots of dead space around it, mattress wasn’t the best but I am fussy :-) entrance and stairs up are a bit grotty (don’t be put off, rooms are really nice but first impressions on walking in was shocking :-)
Really spacious room, fridge is always useful, aircon is modern and quiet

United KingdomThe location is a bit further down the road than the map suggests (both on google maps and on booking.com maps). Not being able to find the place was very stressful and I actually thought I had been scammed as also the phone number listed was not recognised. I walked all the way down to the 'entrance' of brick lane, where the arch is, and hey presto, it was there! As mentioned the hotel itself is above a closed-down shop and is practically unlit and basically looks like an abandoned building... even once I eventually found the hotel I definitely thought 'what the hell have I done'. But as I have said, once inside the room everything was perfect and just what I needed.
The outside of the hotel is a little worrying as its above a closed down shop, is not very well lit, the main door is off on a side road... all in al I was regretting my choice of hotel as I approached. HOWEVER, once inside the room it was great. Simple, but very clean, warm, and comfortable. Plenty of amenities including tea, coffee, shampoo etc. The heating was very efficient, the bed was comfy, the location was great (very central). This place is a good shout if you need a warm and cosy place to rest your head.

FranceThe place was overall quiet, especially during evening/morning hours and people seemed respectful of noise. However, if the people in the neighbouring rooms decide to be very loud, you will be able to hear them.
I liked the location, it is at the heart of Brick lane, a few minutes away from Aldgate East tube station and Spitalfields. It is near supermarkets or convenience stores and there are loads of places to eat from all around. You need a key to access the hotel (unless the staff lets you in), which in my opinion controls who gets in and keeps the place rather safe. My room was very clean, nice and comfy, I really enjoyed my stay. I also had enough room for all of my stuff. The staff was friendly and very helpful, he made sure I was comfortable and helped with my luggage. Overall I am very satisfied with my stay at this hotel and thought it had great value for the money.

United Kingdom- Daylight bulbs in the overhead light fittings for us created a poor impression of the room as these give a cold light. However, there was a bedside light with a warm coloured bulb we used instead, - We struggled to make sense of the remote control for the heater/air conditioner. After twenty minutes of trying to work it out, we had to phone up the staff on an external number for help in the early hours. - The shower head did not sit in its holder in such a way that the water would flow vertically. Instead the water sprayed out horizontally. - Single use plastics were in use for toiletries and drinking water.
- Central location, easy to find in a very lively part of town famous for night life and restaurants, at a good price. - We liked that when we arrived the room was not heated and that it was up to us to use the air conditioner to get the room comfortable for us. If this sensible practice was more widespread it could save a lot of energy.

HungaryThere was a sign that tap water is not drinking water which had a strange smell indeed. There were 2 bottles of water available for free in the room, but certainly this shouldn't happen in a place in central London.

United KingdomThe hotel is a little hard to find, but just off Brick Lane. No lift, so not the most accessible for travellers with mobility needs or bulkier suitcases.
Staff at reception was very friendly and accommodating. There were no issues with check-in. The location is absolutely superb - located between a number of tube stations. Lots of food options in the area. Really loved the surrounding area for the culture and food. The room was clean. Very worth the price we paid, thank you for the stay!
