That we hadn’t been told we were unlikely to have a lie in due to the ongoing works . And when I relayed this at checkout was told ‘ we don’t divulge that information prior to booking’ . I did say it would have been good to have been told on arrival. I felt very passed off with this.

Bar prices were a little high. Scaffolding does not give the hotel a great appeal. But understand improvements are ongoing. Bathrooms are a little dated. Lighting poor in room 224. Can only be operated by the door

The building/renovation works that kicked off at 9 in the morning above our room and our friends rooms. It made for a very frustrating and stressful morning.

The immediate area (nothing the hotel can do about that) the exterior didn’t do the interior justice and we were in a room awaiting refurbishment which was clean but needed doing.

Staff were really helpful went above and beyond. Reasonable rates and good breakfast.

It was a bit disconcerting when I checked in and had to insist that I paid extra for breakfast to be added to my package. Not what you want in front of complete strangers during a busy checking in.. I had to encourage the counter staff to check again and they eventually confirmed. The same thing happened at breakfast in the restaurant in front of other guests, once again. I found it embarrassing to be honest. We also had an unsettling incident when we came back after our event. My partner, who' had nothing to do with the booking, (the weekend was a birthday present for him, from me ) was called to the main desk in a very definite loud authoritative manner, he was made to feel like he had done something wrong. In fact we didn't think they were shouting at us at first. We were ready to get in the lift by this point. . Quite a sizable distance. again in front of a rather busy crowd. It wasn't even 11pm. They demanded an explanation as to why we were here and a room number to prove it. My partner couldn't remember, I was the one with the room key. Thankfully the man spoke so loudly so we could all hear and I was able to go and rescue him from his interrogation. That is honestly how it felt. I wished I had booked in the Moxy where my friends stayed. I just felt it would be nicer to stay in the Delta. My mistake. The staff at the Moxy treated us with more respect and dignity and we spent more time there. My friends got a complementary drinks voucher with their booking, so keep that in mind when choosing Marriot if that's your thing. It was for a cocktail. The lump from the mattress topper on our bed felt like an iron bar in the middle of the bed. It was just a hard seam but did nothing to promote a good nights sleep. We thought maybe they had pushed two beds together. .I would have mentioned it to the staff but we just wanted to leave without any further incident after our previous interaction with them.

I always enjoy my stay at this hotel. I cannot fault the staff, hotel or anything in between. Quality in every way. However, My most recent stay was slightly less enjoyable. I got woken up at 9:20 by the housekeeping staff, when checkout is at 12. I really wanted a lay-in and I didn’t get one. I’m drunk writing this so it’s not very formal, but I love this hotel and staff just please do not wake anyone up if not necessary next time, thank you <3 xxx

When you book using Booking.com you don't get all of the Marriott Bonvoy points which is disappointing.

A pleasant stay in a nice room. I took advantage of the restaurant on this occasion too. The ribs were excellent. I shall most definitely be back.

The bath handle didn’t work pretty thin walls for noise levels as we could hear next door talking & playing loud music (we called reception & it was rapidly sorted out though) heating kept going cold & parking next to the property is £17 per day which isn’t cheap considering the hotel isn’t either so you pay alot all in. Sounds petty but the windows were so filthy we could hardly see out of our street balcony view

We liked the convenience of being right next to the shopping centre & amenities everything was within easy walking distance taxis can pull up right outside. We liked the brand of toiletries to use & mini fridge with drink station Staff were lovely & friendly
