How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The owners were the most accommodating people I've encountered when booking a hotel/b&b and tried to help in all ways as we'd arrived unexpectedly with a car and trailer full of motorbikes. The room was very tidy, well decorated and had wonderful additions such as makeup removed cloths, hair wraps, biscuits, sweets, ear plugs, eye wipes etc. The service was excellent and the breakfast was delicious. Would 100% stay again if we were in the area.

Nothing it was all perfect.
We loved the room size, the little details like the hair towels, the biscuits and sweets, the view from our room. The staff were amazing friendly and welcoming, how central they are. It felt like home as soon as you walked in.

Nothing to fault as everything was great.
Tony and Sandra were great hosts and gave us lots of information about the local area for exploring. The breakfast was excellent, especially the homemade yoghurt. The room was comfortable and spacious with all you could need for your stay.

Very welcoming and informative hosts, lovely peaceful location yet handy for Builth Wells and only a short walk to various establishments for an evening meal. Clean and Comfortable room, spacious enough and nicely decorated. Comfy bed, slept really well. Excellent breakfast, Good WiFi, adequate parking and generally an all-round winner of a guest house. Thanks very much! 5*.

Fantastic guest house. Wonderful hosts. Comfortable bedroom and lovely little extras on the drinks tray and in the bathroom to make the stay even more special. Perfect location for Riverside walking and close to lovely pubs and shops. Breakfast fresh and plentiful.

The owner was exceptional in both mannar and friendliness. The guest house was immaculate and rooms comfortable. Drinks tray, biscuits, iced water fab, and the goodies you were presented with to.use outstripped any hotel I have stayed in. Breakfast was cooked to order, hot and good quality. I couldn't fault this guest house in any way.

Nothing to dislike, everything was as expected and suited my requirements.
Hosts were great and very welcoming, lovely room with nice little touches. Breakfast was fabulous and just what I needed for my day with plenty to choose from. Perfect location too, central to town centre and for the Royal Welsh Showground where I was working for the two days.

Really excellent breakfast with local Welsh products. Very clean everywhere. The hosts make you feel very welcome. This was my second stay and I will keep going back. Great base for walking in mid Wales.

We couldn't find any reason not to visit the accommodation or town.
Sandra & Tony made us feel very welcome. Situated in a lovely area of a really nice town. Breakfast was second to none.

The location was excellent. A pity no ground floor rooms for people with disabilities. Couldnt wish for better cooking and service for breakfast. The en suite was a bit of a tight aqueeze. Overall the accommodation was excellent. Thank you.

I arrived by motorcycle and was able to use the owners garage. My room was very comfortable with everything you could need. location was perfect. breakfast was superb.
