How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The only problem we had was getting 2 sets of keys back into the key box ! That possibly says more about us 😂

It is sometimes hard to find a car parking space close by but we found a car park round the corner which we use.
This was our 4th time staying at the cottage. It’s a real home from home. The decor and furnishings suit the age of the cottage which is situated near to the high street but in a very quiet location. The bedrooms are both a good size with lovely clean linen. The bathroom and kitchen are both well appointed. We love everything about it which is why we’ve been back so many times.

The weather!
Great location in a cute town. Outside garden would be great too in summer. Perfect for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids Really appreciated the milk in fridge and biscuits as a welcome.

If I had to really pick something, the beds were a little bit too soft for our liking, but that is totally personal. The keybox is a little fiddly too.
Absolutely lovely cottage house, perfect for a weekend in the Cotswolds. The house has its own private entrance and doesn't face the street, so it's whisper quiet. The kitchen was well-equipped, the home was clean and tidy, and we enjoyed all the facilities that the house had to offer (fireplace, strong wifi, outdoor patio, Smart TV). Would definitely stay here again!

Absolutely nothing.
This is a lovely, comfortable, and quiet 2-bedroom cottage located in the center of charming Chipping Campden. The cottage is actually located away from the main thoroughfare running through town and is accessed through a wooden doorway, the cottage being located behind another building. For those folks with cars, there was never an issue finding a parking spot within 50 yards of the cottage. There is plentiful light entering the cottage. On the ground floor there is a fully-equipped kitchen, a delightful living room, a comfortable dining area, and a convenient half-bath. The second has 2 nicely appointed bedrooms and a large bathroom with a very good shower/tub combination. Everything looked exactly as pictured on the website. The owner is quickly available by text.

Not a lot really, couple of broken curtain hook rings made them look a bit ‘sloppy’. Some of the wiring/extension leads behind one of the sofas could be tidied up, no kitchen roll and a lack of ‘pump action’ soap in kitchen and downstairs loo, and only 3 teaspoons. All small things but if no-one tells you, you can’t do anything

We loved everything
The location was perfect! The cottage was really cosy and comfortable, and it had everything we needed. There was a nice fireplace, but the weather was too warm to use it. There was also a lovely garden to sit in. Patrick was quick, kind and helpful when we had questions. I would most highly recommend Brook Cottage.

Beautiful cosy cottage in a superb location just off the Lower High Street in the lovely village of Chipping Campden. Large living space with a woodburner, Really comfy large beds, modern clean bathroom and a great garden to relax in too. Kitchen was wel equipped though there wasn't much work surface but absolutely fine for a long weekend away. Gorgeous village, and loads of walks straight from the cottage. .We didn't need to use the car all weekend.

Location is fabulous. Spotlessly clean and everything you could need. The garden is beautiful and peaceful. Lovely to sit out with your coffee in a morning. Beds really comfortable.

I honestly can't think of anything we didn't like.
We loved everything about this charming cottage. Even though we didn't really use it, the private garden was great. The house itself was better than imagined. Fully supplied and lovely. The location is perfect. I truly hope we get to visit again. We were so grateful that you allowed us to reschedule when I broke my foot. That was very kind.
