Could do with new matresses for the beds, aswell as pillows. A small bar fridge would be great in the room.

Friendly staff at reception, good food at the bar/restaurant. Room was really clean. Location good and close to bus stop.

The decor and layout at the Jacobian has an 'old fashioned' charm, which is welcoming and friendly. The room was very spacious with a large comfortable bed and everything present to make a stay comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, keen to assist in any way. There was a wide choice of breakfasts available and I can recommend completely the 'English breakfast', it was excellent. The whole experience providing excellent value for money.

The hotel needs an upgrade. It needs a freshen up with paint. There was a hole near the top of my bed which made a dip when you lay down on it. The bathroom wasn’t clean. There wasn’t enough modern electric sockets as the majority of them were small old sockets. There wasn’t air conditioning and the room was too hot. There was no lift and quite a few stairs.

It was in a great location. I added on the birthday package and it was amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful

Very dated hotel, lack of lights in the room. Our room was facing the car park so had to keep curtains drawn to avoid being seen by everyone. Strange sockets in the room.

Cobwebs on sprinkler in ceiling, dust built up on some areas like the toilet roll holder etc. Could hear the room next to me use the toilet - not pleasant.

Great location lovely polite helpful staff. Our room 39 was large and very comfortable.

The hotel is in much need of a revamp. VERY DATED It felt like my granny's house 20 years ago. Nothing modern at all. Nothing like the website pictures at all.Sorry, there was WiFi...paint work was poor, decor awful, furniture plenty off but very dark and dated. Beds miss matched, and curtains didn't reach the window sills properly, so lots of light came in. Windows of poor quality as all noise travelled through very easily. Carpets felt and looked dirty. Able to hear other residents very clearly. I didn't know until after I booked that it was pet friendly which I didn't like but went with it and actually the animals weren't a problem as such but hairs and smell i didn't like. We didn't eat in the hotel for this reason. We were only at the end of the corridor from reception, but no phone was available for contact with reception. The key fob was a piece of wood, so we had to leave at reception as it was too big to carry with us. All windows in doors were very dirty with hand marks, etc, which was a shame as I felt this was an easy clean and the 1st thing I noticed on entry. The luggage storage room was just stuffed full of mess. I was glad I didn't have to leave my bag there. On 1 morning, there was an open door to another room across from us (15, i think), and our hearts fell as this room had a major face lift and looked really nice. It's much needed the rest of the way through.

IT WAS CLEAN. The fact that I was offered and able to pay for an early check-in. 12pm instead of 3 pm, but we arrived at 9 am due to early flight times to drop our bags in and were able to check in then as our room was ready. Staff were pleasant/helpful. We didn't pay much for 3 people for 2 nights, and due to my health, they were able to fit us into a ground floor room. Because our room/beds were clean and we were on a last-minute weekend, we made do. I definitely would not be returning for another stay unless major changes happen. Prices in the bar were reasonable. Good bus links to city centre.

The heaters didn't work (didn't report this because luckily we didn't need them). Lighting in the room was terrible, it was dark and no main light available in the main area. The room was tired and had some areas of the decor needs attention. The toilet seat was wonky, fine once you were aware but if you sat on it without knowing you felt like you were going to fall off.

The staff are always very welcoming, the lunch and breakfast were excellent, we both had a good nights sleep. So all basic bases were covered well.

We had a superior room which was not worth the money. The mattress on the bed badly needs replacing. The rest of our party’s accommodation of double rooms much better value. Hotel could do with renovation and a good bit of maintenance

The bed linen and towels good. The night staff Menna, was very pleasant and accommodating. The house keeping staff were pleasant and efficient. One of our party left an item of jewelry behind in their room and we were notified straight away which was very impressive
