The breakfast was never warm and when we had a buffet style breakfast, t was cold and the plates were cold. The room was also cold.

Our stay was fabulous. We loved the building, surroundings and our beds were very comfortable

No evening meal availability due to wedding. Would’ve been nice to be pre warned. Curtains in room need updating as ripped and didn’t close fully.

Good location and great room in the stables area.

Patchy wifi and a TV signal that disappeared from time to time. The courtyard was full of weeds and in general need of attention. Looked rather like faded grandeur. No bedside light so reading in bed was very difficult - a serious omission.

Very attractive building set in nice grounds. There is plenty of parking and a well-converted stables room. Bath as well as shower and hot water on tap. Warm room.

Although this is a lovely old building a little TLC is needed in parts to really bring it up to speed. Nothing that a coat of paint and the re hanging of curtains wouldn’t solve.

The size of the was exceptional. With a huge and comfortable bed. Although the room could get chilly I guess due to the sheer size and high ceilings, we did ask for heater and wer given a fan heater which was sufficient.

No real problems, given the structure of the building.

Old fashioned, but nice. Lots of stairs to room. Quite hard to find the hotel at night - an extra sign to confirm the first one would be nice, as that one is some way from the entrance.

Most if the staff are friendly and helpful, but don't leave anything in your room you don't want to be moved around and touched be the staff. I left a wedding shawl drying on blocking mats and came back to my room to find it had been moved against a radiator that had been turned up high, luckily I came back to bring my daughters wedding dress to my room so managed to save it from being scorched and ruined. That could have spoiled my daughters wedding that was happening at the hotel. I kept all staff out of my room for the next 2 days as I was worried about the wedding dress too.

The hotel is an architectural masterpiece in beautiful grounds.

A few things were a little tired, but they didn't detract from our stay.

Fantastic big room with views over the garden. Nice calm decor and everything you need for a short stay away from home. Was clean and comfortable, with a big bathroom. There were extra pillows and the room temp was perfect. We loved the vibe of the place, particularly the entrance hall and staircase.

Cleanliness wasn't brilliant. Dining tables were 'sticky'. Bath had been damaged, as had the wash hand basin. The bathroom lights did not work properly, which could/should have been noticed by housekeeping unless they relied on daylight from the windows. One window had been damaged, clearly a significant time ago, and boarded up instead of being repaired.

Hotel was conveniently situated and generally quiet. Food in the restaurant was OK but not exciting. Menu was quite limited.

Deep Potholes in the driveway as you enter from the road and also in the entrance to the carpark. We booked a twin room, were given a double and had to be moved so one of us had a sofa bed. Asked for a discount but never received it. Got asked over dinner "how is your food" at least 5 times during our meal so didn't eat in the restaurant again in the evening.

The house, rooms and gardens are beautiful. Pleasant staff.

Lovely venue, fantastic room but terrible bed = bad night sleep

The only thing is the bed, it is so uncomfortable, we both woke up with sore backs, and felt like we had very little sleep.

The location and presentation is very good, the room is very pleasant and looks really nice but the bed as to be the most uncomfortable I have slept in in my 62 years. I was talking to my wife about how uncomfortable the bed is and a Irish chap that was leaving at the same time made the same comment, lovely place terrible bed. My wife and I had a terrible night's sleep. My wife and I travel a lot around the UK, weekend stays at least twice a month every month and have for years and that bed is the worse ever. It would stand you well for one of your staff to spend the night to experience it, then you will understand my review.

It needs tlc which is a shame.

At £55 a night I didn’t expect much but the hotel doesn’t reflect the photos. The room was warm clean and comfortable but in need of some tlc. The hotel has been on generator for at least 3 months but the noise didn’t bother us. We were not asked if we wanted to book breakfast or dinner but used the bar which is expensive. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from an Harvester. If I’d paid more I would be upset but all in all it is value and once would have been amazing. We stayed in the Stable block.

Needs some TLC. Water damage in most ceilings, frayed curtains, just generally looking tired and in need of an upgrade. The bathroom was very basic and the large space could be better utilised. The hotel felt quite empty. They could offer so much more, like incorporate activities in the grounds for guests to engage in, maybe archery and other sports, a gym etc.

Beautiful building and grounds, spacious room
