Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only thing I would say here was the breakfast situation was a bit ambiguous. On the 2nd day I thought there would be breakfast, even if it cost more, but nothing was there. Everywhere down stairs was deserted. I did have a porridge pot with me and tea and coffee facilities in my room, so I managed fine. To be fair the owners said the restaurant side of the inn was not in operation at present but residents could use the facilites and cutlery with their own food. Maybe for other residents it might be good to mention there is only 1 complementary breakfast however long you stay, as others may not be as self sufficient as me.
My room was clean and comfortable. I was doing a recce for a running race so had 2 nights booked. I am pretty self sufficient so bring all my food for the duration. I liked the fact I could arrive any time and there were codes for the door and key boxes for room keys. That means I can stay out as late as I like in the mountains. The owner also had a scheme where loan travellers could register their phone numbers before their days out and text to say they were off the mountains, which was very reassuring. There was plenty of free parking available. The literature about this Inn said breakfast could be purchased for £00.10 (10p)? I thought it was a misprint and was £10. On my arrival day I had a text saying a free complementary breakfast of cereal and toast was available, which I gladly accepted.

United KingdomI never booked a room with a bathroom !! It would have been lovely to have had a bath after our Snowdon climb but this was an error on my part when booking
Breakfast very good. Great choice of cereal drinks. Maybe some bananas would be a good idea as if climbing Snowdon ! Neil was very informative and made us feel very welcome. It was great to be given the use of the bar and restaurant area to sit and relax. As closed at the moment this could have been closed off to the public but nice they offer it up for use

United KingdomThere was nothing. All good.
The location was convenient to everywhere around Snowdonia area. We had a room at the back so it was really quiet. The room was very comfortable and shower was very good. The continental breakfast was also really nice as there were enough variety of cereals/flakes and toast and juices etc. There were a lot of parking. The bar, seating room and dining area were beautifully furnished. Thanks to Coop who made the place so inviting and helped us when we needed. He is very friendly and jolly. We absolutely love it.

United KingdomI think it would be beneficial for the guests if the bar was kept open during the evening. This would enable more socialising with other guests and also locals.

Great stay. Really lovely personal touches and great communication from host. We were unfortunately let down by another place nearby and we managed to secure this booking at short notice on the weekend of the Snowdonia ultra marathon within 24 hours of turning up. Only thing I'd say is the place is immediately next to the road so it was a bit noisy but still managed to get to sleep and the room was definitely comfortable enough!
