Lift out of action and our splendid room wqas on the second floor. At 87 years old, that was not quite how we planned it.

The staff were all polite and cheerful, helpful without being pushy. Breakfasts were excellent. Canapes before dinner added a touch of style. The room(s) were spacious and comfortable. Swimming pool and grounds added gresatlly to our enjoyment.

I only stayed for two nights, but I would definitely go back there. Very clean, very comfortable bed. Very close to Glenn Durgan and Trebah Gardens, which are worth visiting.

    Absolutely nothing.

A fantastic world of its own complete with indoor pool, golf course, lovely gardens and of course the river. Add excellent food & hospitality - in short idyllic.

    Can't think of anything.

I was taken aback by the affordability (perhaps due to an out-of-season visit) and this was only magnified when I arrived to be given a very spacious room. There are large gardens that lead down to a quiet cove on the Helford River, and I nipped down for a pre-breakfast swim (hugely recommend it as a beautiful place for a dip). There are even hanging lines fitted in the bathroom so that you can dry swimming stuff over the bathtub (as well as a lovely shower). Breakfast was delicious, with lots of choices. The whole experience was excellent.

It's a big hotel to clean but given the price expected it to be spotless. There was a layer if dust on the skirtingboard in our room and the showeres and pool area generally could have been cleaner.

Beautiful setting. Good sized, quiet rooms.

This is a beautiful hotel. The staff are very friendly and the swimming pool is a good size. The hotel is close the river so we were able to go on some lovely walks (with our little dog who was well catered for at the hotel.). Thank you, especially to the welcoming reception staff.

Menu was tailored for fine dining and required a specific dress code. The menu was also very fancy (strange). I had the breast of chicken which was tiny and a smaller amount of potatoes. I had the chef special deal and had a pudding all for £35! Breakfast did not start till 7 am that meant I could not have it as I needed to be on site at 7:30 am. The hotel is quite remote so popping out for your evening meal is a bit of a chore. I would suggest a menu that has the classics on it, fish and chips, steak, sausage and mash etc Something for your regular visitor.

Staff and room were excellent can’t fault it.

Not many veggie food options if eating in for a few nights

The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a fabulous stay and squeezed in so much. We went down to see the river and met Roger from Helford river cruises who gave us an impromptu little boat trip (just to the pub🤣)in his own time

There was nothing I didn’t like, the bed just didn’t suit my back. The staff and hotel are great.

The hotels location is nothing short of stunning. A beautiful riverside setting with ornamental gardens and golf course and beautiful dog walk routes. We had two rooms so saw two different styles. The first room was extremely well presented and luxurious and the second room was quite dated, this was the dog friendly room so kind of understand, however we’ve stayed in a few dog friendly boutique hotels where there isn’t such a standard change. The food was exceptional, we thoroughly enjoyed our steak dinners and the wonderful breakfast. All the produce was clearly local and was just so well cooked and presented.

On first impression parts of the hotel appeared a little tired, but our view of this changed during the course of the stay. The room was recently refurbished and was very comfortable and clean. Likewise the bar and restaurant areas.

Good selection of well cooked, tasty, high quality food made with local ingredients. Friendly, attentive service, in particular in the bar.

Breakfast starts a little on the late side for business travellers. Breakfast starts at 8am and once ordered came out at about 8:15am (so very prompt) but I had meetings to attend from 8:30am so had to eat very quickly!

I have an electric car and there was difficulty getting the car charges to connect. The team went out of their way to try and get them working and when this didn't work they allowed me to use the private charger in the staff area. Very impressed!

I really can't think of anything to complain about. The whole experience well exceeded my expectations.

The whole experience was fantastic. The lady on reception when I arrived was very helpful. I was given a room which may well have been an upgrade because it was a quiet evening at the hotel. The room well exceeded what I had expected. It was large and very well laid out with an additional door to block any noise from the corridor. The bottle of water and Cafetiere coffee were a lovely extra. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, the staff were friendly and there was a good variety of food choices, The cooked breakfast was the best I have had for a very long time, Thank you to the chef. If you get a chance to walk around the gardens they are beautiful. I used the pool, sauna and outdoor jacuzzi, as it is so dark you can relax and see the stars on a clear night.

There’s really nothing to not like.

The room (51) was a great size, clean and the decor was lovely. It had everything needed, I like that a complimentary bottle of water was provided and a bag for recycling were nice touches. Free wifi and parking are always something I look for when making a hotel reservation so this was welcomed.
