I paid for an executive room but got a disabled room with no extras facilities. I told reception but got no satisfaction. It was a birthday treat . The room was not nice.

The bed was comfy but it dipped in the middle, so you rolled back towards the middle - but it was okay. The room was clean and great for our needs. The only negative point was the skirting board in the bathroom had come away from the wall under the radiator. Just needs fixing back on to look good.

Room was good and lovely towels and plenty of pillows. Staff friendly. Breakfast room was clean and there was plenty of food to choose from.

Sadly had to ask for extra blanks has the rooms was cold has no heating on and the weather had turned very cold that evening After 1hr no blankets So went to the reception asked a member of staff who brought blankets and a heater Sorry didn't get your name but many thanks

Pity that the size of the hotel, its lovely big room and its location they dont have any evening entertainment. (A bit out of the way so if you want a good night without driving anywhere you wont really find it here) After dinner most people just went back to their room, where after talking to guests they would have stayed down and spent more money over the bar if they had a reason too. The bar area was cold and uninviting. Shame as it would bring more money to the hotel.

The hotel was lovely. Lots of outdoor space. Food was lovely and great value for money. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Yorks Bird of prey centre a 3 minute walk away.

The room was clean. Goodness only knows how the housekeeping team manage to do such a good job. The lighting was abysmal. It was like spending a night in the black hole of Kolkata. Never in our lives have we stayed in such a souless, dark room. We kept the door open to the corridor to get some light into our room while getting sorted. The parking... What parking? When we arrived there were no spaces available. When we asked at reception we were sent round to the bar carpark where we did manage to find a space but this was at the far end of the hotel from reception. The few alloted disabled places were occupied by cars without blue badges. We met a disabled couple while checking in who couldn't find a space to park. As the woman on the reception desk seemed utterly disinterested that a disabled couple had nowhere to park and had no idea where the 'bar' carpark was, my Mother and I had no choice but to help them. The on-line photo is deceiving. We thought we were booking into an intimate 'country house hotel' which it no longer is. Sadly the rooms aren't a patch on the equivalently priced rooms at Travelodges. Given how fabulous the restaurant staff, breakfast staff and bar staff are, the rest was really a let down, especially the dingy room and the disinterested person on reception. Still, hats off to the restaurant, bar and breakfast team.

The restaurant staff and bar staff (just one chap on) were amazing. 11 out of ten plus and an extra point for the chap tending the bar.

The pillows weren't very comfy as they were quite flat when you lied on them. Would probably need another pillow on top.

Although the food at the restaurant was nice, it was very basic, typical local pub food, in my opinion, not what I expect in a hotel. Again, although the breakfast was nice, it was a buffet style, and there were never any tomatoes or hash browns to go with the cooked breakfast. Bread was only ever available to have, no croissants or pain au chocolats or anything like that as an option. You had to toast your own bread on a toasting machine. Sometimes, it burned the toast, and other times, it didn't do it enough, and there was a sign saying don't alter the toasting machine settings. There was cereal and fruit on offer, so that was a plus. But because pastries were non-existant, that, for me, let the breakfast down really. We like really good food when on holiday and we were disappointed that it wasn't better, we would have probably eaten out if we knew the food was basic there. There was an annoying hum constantly in the room, too, and it was there all day and night. Luckily, I had ear plugs, so I was still able to sleep soundly. The kettle needed descaling, and there was no toilet brush, too, just little things that need doing. If it wasn't for that, then I'd have given a higher score because it was a nice hotel.

Lovely hotel in a lovely area, nice and clean place, lovely decor, and staff were friendly, there was a good selection of drinks at the bar too. The room was really nice and was very spacious, good-sized tv, and tea and coffee facilities were good too. The shower was nice and hot, and the bed was comfy. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, I was happy I chose to stay there.
