Butt Lodge is amazing. The hosts Cath and Mac are extremely friendly and Mac is an amazing chef -- the breakfasts and dinner were really nice. The location is beautiful and the rooms are clean and large. I particular liked the little touches: proper fresh juice, homemade jam/marmalade, nice soft towels. They even made flapjacks for us for our hike up the mountain.

Shower entry was tight and difficult. That is my only negative observation.

Catch & Mac were great hosts. The setting is second to none and the home made food was excellent and far better than I have had at so called high end restaurants. We will be back

A wonderful place to stay. Cath and Mac were so welcoming and accommodating. The room was great and there is a lovely lounge area to enjoy a glass of wine in. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic, and I very much recommend the overnight oats. All in all a lovely place and highly recommended.

I had a lovely stay at Butt Lodge. Mac's beautifully prepared meals and Cath's hostessing skills make for a dream team. Lochranza is such a pictureque and peaceful area. My room was perfect and well located for seeing the deer, and I also really enjoyed seeing the seals and birdlife on my coastal walk. Thanks too for the help with Storm Kathleen!

The hosts were so friendly. They made sure you were looked after but at the same time, gave you sufficient privacy We had dinner and breakfast at the accommodation. The food was the best we had staying in Arran. Much better than other accommodations (including a particular 4 star hotel in Brodick) that we've stayed in Arran. The location was also beautiful and so peaceful too.

Everything about Butt Lodge was wonderful! We stayed 3 nights and wish we could have stayed a week. The room was comfortable and well equipped. The meals were fabulous, and the location was perfect. Staff took care of our every need. Walking was easy and the calmness and quiet at the Lodge was perfect. I couldn't imaging a better place on Arran to stay. I cannot wait to make a trip back.

The only slight negative, was the rough track you have to drive up, to get to the property. It's a single track and very bumpy but it certainly wouldn't put me off visiting again.

Loved everything about our stay at Butt Lodge. The warm and friendly welcome, the most comfiest bed (didn't want to get out of it in the morning), the breakfast was delicious and hot, the location is just stunning. We would highly recommend Butt Lodge and will definitely visit again.

Cath and Matt were so friendly and welcoming. Suite was great and lots of wee touches like Arran Aromatic toiletries were great. Woul d definitely recommend dining in. Food was exceptional and saved the hassle of going out at night after a day's activity.

It was set in the most beautiful location standing alone from the main village in Lochranza. Despite being set apart it was a short walk to get around . The decor was very tasteful and luxurious, perfect to relax after a long cycle ..!!!!

I’ve been coming to Arran for 50 years but this was the first time staying at Lochranza. Cath and Mac are excellent and welcoming hosts and thanks again to Cath for graciously accommodating our later than planned check in. Butt Lodge is a comfortable and stylish guest house; our room (Hutton) was spacious, well-appointed and spotlessly clean, with a lovely range of teas and coffees. Breakfast was terrific and we really enjoyed our delicious dinner – Mac is a great chef! We woke to sheep wandering the grounds and deer and a stag grazing on the golf course – what a great way to start the day! Butt Lodge is a great place to stay and I would definitely recommend.
