Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAn idyllic location with views over Cadair Idris - the bed was SO comfortable and the bedding luxuriously soft. Everything you could need was in the room and full English breakfast delivered in the morning was a delight. The hot tub was just perfect and really clean, and private use for the suite only. Staff really really friendly and helpful too.

United KingdomThe shower. Whilst a bath is great, there isn't a shower screen to be able to have a proper shower without getting everywhere soaked.
We loved the hot tub! We were greeted by Neal on arrival, he is super friendly and really informative! The breakfast was great, the views are spectacular. Just a short walk into the town with plenty of places to eat and get a drink or two! :)

United KingdomIf i was to suggest anything, it would be a few simple things: hooks in the bathroom for robes and or wet swim suits, when going from the room to the toilet, there was nowhere to hang it while i was using the facilities. A shower curtain for those people who want to stand and shower and prevent water from getting to the carpeting. Kitchen roll and/or a box of tissues for the room, its a long walk to the toilet after a big sneeze, and being able to clean a coffee drip or similar would have been useful.
Brilliant property, so much character and charm. Don't expect a modern refurb, this is age and time. You can see areas of age on the property, but we don't consider them faults, but a story. A loose floorboard, or creaky steps, to us is perfect. The owners were fabulous, and our sort of people. The decor was quirky and unusual, with nods to music and celebrities as well as fashion photography and prints of animals in victorian dress, The bed was large and beautiful, and the bedding was soft and comfortable. The mattress shows some signs of use, but i slept like a baby, and thats saying something. I normally toss and turn, but i was out like a light. The TV was giant, and we could access just about anything you could want to watch, the sofa was clean and comfortable. The kitchenette was lovely and useful, excellent idea, we packed the fridge full, and there was butter, milk, and OJ already provided for!! The bathroom was clean and tidy, towels were soft and comfortable. The hot tub was gorgeous, not too hot, just perfectly comfortable. The view was stunning, and something that was truly unforgettable. I would never have had the chance to make those memories without being able to stay in such a place. The breakfast was lovely and cooked perfectly, The property and gardens unforgettable, the hosts warm and friendly. Private parking on site.

Beautiful property. Very warm welcome from lovely hosts! Great facilities and very comfortable sleep! Outstanding views from the property of the surrounding areas. Great selection of breakfast items.

The beautiful hall is full of character. The Cader Suite is huge with an enormous bay window looking directly over the village of Dolgellau and the mountain, Cader Idris. The large 4 poster bed is so comfy and the furnishings are beautiful. Great sofa, big TV and lovely chairs and table in the bay - ideal for watching the ever changing mountain scene. Serafina is really welcoming , friendly and helpful. There are more big plans to renovate other parts of the property too, with very luxurious bathrooms etc 😊

United KingdomThe lack of a shower was the only downside.
Beautifully decorated room with a superbly comfortable bed. Stunning location with a view over the hills. Amazing eclectic decor throughout. We had vegan breakfasts - it was delivered to our room to eat at a little table, and was absolutely delicious. The hot tub was beautifully relaxing with the same stunning view as the room. The host was absolutely lovely, we could have stayed and chatted to her all day! Would happily recommend to others.

United KingdomNothing, everything was great!
I am sorry for my English (it's not my mother language) PenYcoed definetly pleasantly surprised us. We have booked Cader suit (it was very quick booking, it was enough for me that they have hot tub and reviews was good, so I didn't actually checked much on website) Before we arrived, I have contacted hosts and they advised us that hot tub will be personally just for us, because of Cader suit we booked. They also recommended some restaurants for dinner, what was very nice. Location wise it is not difficult to find them, just need to be very careful and not to miss a sign, as road is narrow, might be a bit difficult to turn around, especially for big cars, but nothing scary. They have parking next to the hotel, so you don't need to worry about your car. When we arrived, we been welcomed by Serafina (host) and she showed us around, explained how to use hot tub, she was very welcoming and helpful. Hot tub is outside in the garden (not far, literally 10 second walk) . Inside little shed is very clean, they will heat water in hot tub for you and you will find a bath robes in the room. The only thing, I would recomend to take some slippers with you. There is very nice in the evening as you can turn lights on and overall there is very cosy atmosphere. After, Serafina showed us house and our room, and this is where fun begins. They have massive hall when you come inside with multiple art on the walls. Cader suit is on the second floor and room is MASSIVE! When Serafina opened the door, I thought it was some mistake :D Room look like you are in the catle: wooden floors, massive wooden bed (very comfortable), art on the walls, rugs, giant window with beautiful view and two chair next to it, breakfast area, sofa with very big TV, different kinds of lightning. Looking on the pictures on website you might think it is big room, but in real life it is actually even bigger.

Me and my husband enjoyed the stay at PenYcoed. The room was massive with interesting details. The view through the window was beautiful. The host of the hall was very informative and friendly, she personally met us and showed round the hall. The hot tub was relaxing after a long day walking in the rain. I highly recommend it. P.s. There was a very curious, little kitten in the house which made me feel like home. 🙂

United KingdomNot a lot to dislike, worth mentioning that the house is up a steep hill, which was fine for us. Bathroom was not en-suite, again didn’t bother us. The only downside was a lack of a shower, having to run a bath after going in the hot tub wasn’t ideal but only a very minor point really.
Lovely place, beautiful building with a great contrasting modern twist to the decor and furnishings. The owners were lovely and friendly, and although it’s their home they didn’t make us feel like we were imposing. The room was comfortable, with a beautiful four poster bed, a huge TV and plenty of tea, coffee and pastries. Great views over town and of Cader Idris from the massive bay window and although the rooms are massive the property was kept at a comfortable temperature. The hosts made us a fresh bacon and egg sandwich in the morning.
