The bar area with incessant sport on the tv (I'm very much a sport fan) and very noisy. It is not somewhere you can have a quiet drink

Wifi only if you sign up to Marriotts... it's 2024 common. Lattes/ ground coffee are extras at brekkie... only filtered coffee included.

Shower didn't work. Towel rail didn't work. Both fixed by maintenance but standing in the bath to wash hair and finding shower doesn't work is poor. Also booking a room for 2 people and having one chair is inexcusable. The picture shows 1 chair but no one should have to sit on a bed or stand for a 3 night stay even in a budget hotel. Surely you can do better than this, you say you are not a budget hotel. We are reluctant to pick a marriot again even though staff were so good.

How about charging less for breakfast

staff and location excellent, dinner was very nice. We didn't have breakfast because it was expensive (£16.95) considering 2 people out of our party of 4 would of had a drink and a bowl of cereal. Never understood why hotels charge their residents so much for breakfast, and Marriott is by no means the most expensive.

When we came down for breakfast we weren’t given a choice of seating, there was plenty of empty seating. The cutlery was filthy dirty and had to ask for it to be changed.

I have stayed many times, location is key, own parking, staff are fabulous always are!

Booking in at reception took an age. Carpet in room stained. Windows in room very dirty. Anti-scald safety lock broken on bath/shower temperature control.

The room was a little tired, stain on the wall, fridge didn’t seem to be working, bathroom door had some dents and on a personal note it would have been nice to have had a dressing table / seat with mirror

For us (being of the older generation) we would have liked a hand rail over the bath - but certainly not a major problem. Again - for us - some of the music in the bar was a little loud which would probably not bother many others

We had a quiet Executive room on the 4th floor which was very comfortable. Hotel location was excellent for us - short walking distance from the station. We had breakfast in the Executive lounge (included in the price of the room) which was more than adequate - all self service but certainly no problem for us.

After booking I needed to upgrade to a double room. I tried numerous times to call the hotel, every time I ended up speaking to someone in America. I gave up.

Clean spacious rooms, nice location. Only downside is the value for money angle. We also had to shell out for overnight parking despite having a family room in the hotel which doesn’t make sense as an add on.

The room. A table but only one chair in a double room. Where are you supposed to eat if you have room service? Couldn't unpack properly - there was no drawer space.

Ideal location for the city centre. Excellent buffet breakfast.

The description of room said there was a safe - there wasn’t. No sauna, or steam room only gym- view over waste ground - we were offered an upgrade am with a view but it was considerably more expensive

There was a little traffic noise in the morning, but being in the centre of town I suppose this would be unavoidable. This was not enough to ruin my stay or avoid me staying here again.

The hotel was in a great location for my needs and the shopping arcade. Plenty of bars and restaurants although Browns restaurant downstairs was excellent. The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful.
