How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Very noisy flat below having a party into the early hours. Couldn't get either tv to work as WiFi wouldn't connect. Had to open all the windows and turn off the radiators on arrival as the flat was unbearably hot. Iy wasn't as big as it looked in the pictures and for us, it was a lot of money for 1 night but I suppose that's London prices

I had a problem contacting the owners before the travel. I think it's the only thins. Well, it was a bit small and packed but I wouldn't have expected anything else for this money.
First of all the location. Then, it was clean, neat and comfortable to use for a short vacation.

Great location and easily accessible by public transport. Large, spacious and extremely clean. Beds were very comfortable! Mario the housekeeper was extremely attentive and made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall a great apartment which I would highly recommend and will be using again in the future!

Property above - every floorboard squeaked and creeped meaning anytime anyone walked, we could hear it. Whilst this wouldn’t usually be a problem during the day, at night, it woke us up several times and eventually woke us up from 5am when the family above (clearly with young children) were back and forth and so constant floorboard noise until 8am when they went out. This meant we were woken early and as it is the nights sleep you are going there for, it is not great when that is cut short and you are left tired. I have messaged the property before leaving a review as I felt it fair to let them know first. However, no response at all after a month so I have to put it in my review.

Decor is a little drab but ok for purpose. No spare bedding for sofa bed use that I could find - I should have checked with owner.
Location is superb and apartment size is adequate for a couple to stop over for an evening or few days.

I really liked how spacious it was.The internet worked so I could work from "home" and when I did not understand how to make the save work the caretaker helped me. Location is a short walk to Edgware Road and Marylebone stations

It was way too hot. Heating was set at 25 degrees and even when we turned it down it didn't help. Very hard to sleep. The bathroom is a little on the small side. A lot of stairs to get to apt 5
Location of apartment was so central and very close to public transport. Living space quiet spacious and bed was comfortable. Apartment was lovely and clean

Just felt that the sofa would be more comfortable with some cushions, as it had a very wide seat
The first thing we noticed when we opened the door was the beautiful smell. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. More spacious than we expected. Great bed, good shower and lovely complimentary toiletries. Good location

Bathroom was very tiny, never saw such tiny bathroom in my life, but again, central London is very expensive and its a general case all over the London. Found similar bathroom in another hotel, so not their fault as such.
The location was awesome. Bus stop and tube stations are few steps away. And for the location, the price of the property was fine. The rooms were small, but I guess it is a case of all the central London properties. Host was friendly. It was a nice family stay.

Kitchen area small but all we needed for a quick breakfast.
Brilliant location, within a 3-8 minute walk to 3 trains stations. Linen was changed every few days with was great. Lounge area small but adequate for 2 people.
