Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI would like there to be a dedicated space for parking as it was difficult to turn and park close to the cottage. In fairness it does say no parking but that makes it hard when you are in a car.
Very welcoming host in lovely cottage in very quiet hamlet. Great breakfasts and good wi fi. I enjoyed my break of 3 nights after so many years of not being in Wales. It's a good place to stay for walkers and cyclists. It's a great place as a base to explore central Wales, the Dyfi Valley, the Osprey Centre and the coastline of Aberdovey to Barmouth. The train service to the North and to Aber is just 3 miles away in Machynlleth and is frequent enough to have day trips and then returning to the base. The station has free parking for train travellers and there's some paid for parking about 5 minutes away at a storage centre. The nearest pub is the Dovey Valley Hotel at Cemmaes Road or there are at least five in Machynlleth.

GermanyThe coffee in the morning. It might be an english thing but only instant coffee was available The location Is remote and there is no place in the area where one could get dinner.. This point so did not bother me but it would be good to know it in advance: there is a dog and two cats in the place
The host is amazing. She picked me up from the station and offered me a left everyday (for a rate less than the local taxi company) to the bike park, town or shop In general just super helpful with everything

United KingdomIt's a fair bit away from anywhere, so you have to drive but that's just to be expected really. Otherwise you can't fault it.
Teleri was very welcoming and made me feel right at home. The room was clean and tidy, as was the bathroom. I was very impressed with the breakfast, which was substantial as well as the tea and coffee station in the room. There was a secure space to keep my mountain bike, and I was able to park my car easily.

United KingdomLlanwryn is quite isolated with no facilities so having your own transport would be the best plan if staying there. It's a beautiful spot though!
The host, Teleri, was very welcoming and couldn't do enough for my son and I, including ferrying us to and from Machynlleth for the comedy festival. A lovely lady, friendly and extremely informative about the area. Rooms were comfy and Taleri's breakfasts (continental) set us up for the day. Diolch yn fawr Teleri!

United KingdomOwner (Teleri) was most friendly and helpful. Beautifully restored country cottage provides an interesting and intimate setting. Two very clean single rooms and one bathroom. Comfortable beds. TVs were a bit of a challenge. Superb, cooked breakfast, with cereals, fruit and yoghurts. Peaceful, rural location, yet strong wi-fi connection from local BT fibre cabinet! Great photos of owner's thoroughbred horses - a conversation starter if ever there was one.

United KingdomWe had a lovely stay, so nothing springs to mind!
It is a gem! My room had a view over green hills and I could see sheep in the opposite field. The host was kindness itself. We had lovely breakfasts with lots of fruit available and welsh bottled water for our days out. It was perfectly located for the Alternative Technology Centre. The rooms were very comfortable and warm.

United KingdomNot so much didn’t like more a case of being aware that the property has shared bathroom & toilet facilities, which is not a major problem if you are aware of this at booking, which I was. The location is very remote, so one needs to ravel to Machynlleth or other local villages for evening meal or takeaway. Again not a major problem if you plan in advance.
Stayed for two evenings, covering a business meeting in Barmouth. The owner was a lovely lady and couldn’t do enough for you, providing fresh milk for your tea in your room along with bottled water. Full English / Welsh breakfast was home cooked local produce, plus fruit juices, fresh fruit and cereal, plus toast. Plenty to keep you going through the day, The place was spotless, the room, the bathroom, everything was immaculate.
