Our room was at the back and had no view at all. The floorboards were very creaky but, it's an old building.

The hotel was busy buzzy and welcoming. The unexpected garden was a bonus and car park very useful. Our room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. Location perfect for the town. I love the history of a coaching inn.

A good family room at a reasonable price, that enabled us to visit the antiquities of Avebury, a few miles down the road. Only places available in Swindon came close to this price when I booked. Swindon felt too far from Avebury. Good bar and the food was hearty; the cooked breakfasts were excellent. Good staff. It has a real Inn feel - you leave your room, drop down a short flight of stairs and you are more or less in the pub. I liked that, and the draft beer was also good. Marlborough as a town has so many good places to eat and a few good pubs. We were spoiled for choice over two nights. Ample parking at the rear of the hotel in a town where parking appears in short supply. Nearby Avebury was superb.

I have mobility issues and as the room was on the second floor, with no lift, this made leaving the room difficult. Also, two bath towels and only one hand towel. An extra hand towel would be appreciated. Having said that this is our third time at the hotel and we would definitely stay there again

The situation in the heart of the town. Private parking.

Breakfast only starts at 8am. If you are on a walking holiday you need to be up and away earlier - 7am or, at least, continental breakfast to be available at 7am.

Nice big room. Friendly staff. Easy to park. Great location on Marlborough High St and near to the Neolithic Monuments.

An old building is fine but the furniture could do with an upgrade.

The restaurant is very good, excellent food and the staff were brilliant. One waitress in particular was superb, very hard working and didn't stop once - deserves a bonus.
