On arrival, we were upgraded to a (very large!) triple room which was a lovely surprise. Very helpful lady on reception, lovely room with everything we needed. Bar / restaurant definately recommended. Fab breakfast

Found walking to chalet bedroom in the rain bad would have preferred room in main hotel but was attending a funeral dinner in hotel which was excellent and would definitely recommend this Hotel

The hotel is old but functions well, the staff at reception and in the dinning room are all helpful and efficient. We were only there one night not it was relaxing and comfortable, if we come this way again we shall probably stay here again, it’s close to Stirling which is worth a visit.

You need a car or other form of transport as nothing really within walking distance. (We already knew this so it wasn't a problem for us as we had a car). Our room was lovely, large and clean (294 in main building). There was one issue however, there were industrial extractor fans right outside our window on the flat roof of the kitchen. The smaller fan came on around 6:30 am for the breakfast service, and this wasn't a problem and didn't wake us up. The larger fan was unfortunately very noisy and came on later in the day until 10/10:30 pm. This made spending any time in the room during the day or evening a bit miserable, even with the TV on to drown it out, and also opening the window wasn't an option because of the noise. We mentioned this to the reception staff who were very understanding, but as the hotel was fully booked they were unable to offer an alternative room. As we were busy out enjoying ourselves and spent minimal time in our room between breakfast and bed-time it did not spoil our enjoyment too much, so have deducted just one star as everything else was great.

Lovely hotel with excellent staff and great food. This was our second visit and we wouldn't hesitate to return again next time we're visiting family. We stayed for 3 nights in the main building this time around, we previously stayed in one of the bungalows. Both rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful, with hot food freshly cooked to order, and the evening menu was equally good with plenty of choice to suit all tastes.

On this occasion, our room was slightly on the small side.

This hotel is by far our favourite "stop-over" venue in Central Scotland. The staff are very friendly but so professional and the food is excellent.

Just some little things - there is a glass panelled door in the room that is no longer used and leads outside, the glass has been patterned and there is a net curtain but I think there should be a blind on there too. Also, the bathroom blind was rolled up to the top and is the same colour as the walls, I didn't realise there was a blind until the next day. I would stay again though

The staff were very nice and welcoming, the room was nice and very good value. We had dinner in the restaurant which for me was a delicious steak pie. The menu was good and staff were polite.

Our room was quite dated and tired. There is quite a contrast between the pictures on their page so you don’t know what you are getting. There was also a very over powering smell in out bathroom. Not an unclean smell but even opening the window didn’t get rid of it.

It was a good price and the beds where very comfortable. We had a good sized room. Good for someone staying a long time. Bathroom had a fantastic shower.

The rooms were very loud and could easily hear neighbouring guests. The plumbing was loud after turning off taps/ flushing toilet and would vibrate loudly for 1-2 minutes. The floors were squeaky and would have been annoying for any neighbouring/ downstairs guests.

Good place for a stopover near Stirling. The staff were excellent and very helpful.

The room we had was above the function room and we were warned that there would be noise from the wedding reception disco. It was indeed pretty noisy but did finish at midnight. I'm a good sleeper but I would still have preferred to have been told when booking rather than on arrival. Should maybe think about noise insulation for that room
